  1. Approximate model year - what car type is this in?
  2. Um... the Turbo cluster will have Boost whereas the 996 cluster will not. You may still need a Porsche PST2 or PIWIS to set the options for your car - and - you can not change the mileage on the cluster once the cluster has passed 52 miles. So you may need some legal paperwork if you ever sell the car.
  3. This poster has not been back since he posted this (4 years ago) - so I will just close this one.
  4. Please do not double and triple post your questions Please re-read the board Guidelines/Rules that you agreed to when you registered here. "Please post your messages in one forum only. Crossposting, double posting, triple posting, etc. are all a waste of time and valuable resources. If you post the same message in multiple times or in multiple forums, we will delete the ones we feel are inappropriate." Your duplicate posts have been removed.
  5. There was a problem that caused emails and notification emails (including topic digests) to not be delayed for the last day or so. That problem has now been corrected and those emails and notifications are now working properly again. Sorry, for the inconvenience.
  6. Not the same part number as the one's above. Remember their were at least 3 different MAFs used on 996 series - you will need to get the correct one.
  7. If you have an aerokit or sideskirts - beware! If the pressure is not all on the round lift point you may damage the sideskirts and or under-carriage.
  8. Do your brake lights work (without flickering also)?
  9. Just to clarify fuel tank calibration amounts (per the service manual) -- C2 = 12 liters C4 = 28 liters
  10. Have you tried VW (T10152) for the tool? It is also used on the Cayenne and VW Toureg. You WILL need the tool. Removing 1. Carefully lift up rubber sleeve on the ignition switch using a plastic spatula, for example, and remove it. 2. Turn union nut using a narrow plastic spatula, for example, or using the special wrench T10152 tool and unscrew the ring from the ignition starter switch. 3. Press ignition switch inwards and remove towards the bottom. 4. Release electric connector -a- and pull it off the ignition starter switch Installing 1. Connect plug on ignition switch until it clicks into place. 2. Position ignition switch in the switch panel from below. Position union nut, re-adjust switch and tighten union nut using wrench T10152. Tightening torque: 1.6 Nm 3. Place cover in position and slide it over the ignition switch, paying attention to the fitted shape.
  11. 986-333-051-30
  12. If you need to replace the ignition switch in 2009 997-2 - then please post in the 997-2 section. This is the 996 section and the problem and repair are completely different.
  13. Yes, if the numbers (4,5 and 6) were in the thousands - I would say that is cause for concern. Fewer counts in the higher stages is best (or zero). Just so you know stage 1 is hitting the rev limiter - the rev limiter protects the engine -- which is exactly what you want.
  14. I do not see anything here to worry about. Generally unless there are other signs of abuse you only concerned about Stage 3 and above.
