  1. I guess you have inspected the actuator arm (part of item 10), guide rose (item 11), and the catch (item 7) that is on the door/flap? (click to enlarge) I know of at least one instance where we had a car that had the little catch on the door/flap missing -- they had also replaced the solenoid.
  2. Is there actually a something wrong with current operation of the car - or - is this just a Durametric code? Sometimes there are bugs in the software is why I ask. So, is there a problem in normal operation of the car?
  3. I'm pretty sure it comes unpainted - only primer.
  4. 997.610.105.11 was replaced by 997.618.512.01 (for cars with option I601 Xenon headlights) 997.618.516.01 - Vehicle Electrical System Control Unit -- is current for all 997.1 from MY2005 to 2008.
  5. I have corrected that - it was a mistake in the early OBD manual from Porsche. All of the latest show bank 1.
  6. P2098 = Bank 1 pre cat O2 sensor
  7. Please read the Lost Radio Code FAQ "Can you give me a code for my PCM? These units are manufactured jointly by Siemens and Becker, and the only place where you can get the codes required is from the dealer/OPC. The PCM’s require two codes, the ICS/Siemens code and a Becker code. The ICS is the first code requested. Sorry, the only place you can get a PCM code is from a dealer/OPC."
  8. Please read the Lost Radio Code FAQ "CDR-23 (or later): These radios do not have a security code - that is, not that the user enters. These radios are security tested on the MOST (fiber optic bus) system to see if they are the "programmed" radio. The radios are programmed and recognized by the car’s DME and can only be replaced by a shop with a PST2 or PIWIS. These radios will not request a code when battery power is disconnected."
  9. New spark plugs - 22 ftlb. Re-used spark plugs - 19 ftlb. Ignition coils - 7.5 ftlb. 0.8 +- 0.1 mm gap
  10. I think you want "ATE Typ 200" that is what people refer to as "ATE Gold". Tirerack shows it currently in stock.
  11. Do you have a amp meter? If so, your troubleshooting should begin with the amp meter in series with the battery (battery positive lead -->amp meter --> positive lead from battery). Normal draw for a 996 is about 40-60 ma (no key in the ignition as that activates the airbag circuit and other things). Once in place note the amp meter reading - remove one fuse at a time and note the change. A few miili-amps is normal anything higher suspect. If there is little or no change replace the fuse and go on to the next one until you find the circuit with the high current draw. Once you do that report the fuse letter/number back here and we'll suggest what is next for that circuit. BTW... it is normal for the door locks to stop working in as little as 5 days storage (not driven) as the alarm system shuts off non-essential (remote unlocking) features to save battery power.
  12. Looks like the engine is out me -- see how high it sits and no muffler visible?
  13. No factory "sport" pad for non-PCCB at this time either. Pagid is a well known brand for combo pads that are both street and (light) track capable. A "sport" pad will likely give you more noise and faster wear but will have superior braking characteristics (over OEM).
  14. I agree sounds like you have one or more plugged drains (search the site for drain locations and tips on clearing them). If you remove and dry out the alarm control box quickly (before corrosion can set in) it can sometimes be saved - otherwise you are looking at new (expensive) control box plus time to program it.
  15. You will need a Porsche PIWIS tester to evaluate whether the control box can be re-programmed (sometimes that works) or it needs to be replaced.
