  1. If your car does not have the optional "handsfree" settings then you likely need the optional kit installed (997.044.902.33).
  2. Please state the exact model and year of your car as well what country you are in (some options were not available in all countries).
  3. A Porsche diagnostic tool will tell you if you have pending faults and exactly which emissions area is failing.
  4. From the Lost Radio Code FAQ... "Can you give me a code for my PCM? These units are manufactured jointly by Siemens and Becker, and the only place where you can get the codes required is from the dealer/OPC. The PCM’s require two codes, the ICS/Siemens code and a Becker code. The ICS is the first code requested. Sorry, the only place you can get a PCM code is from a dealer/OPC."
  5. The 993 cycle is not the 996 cycle. It is more likely that you still have a fault. What diagnostic tool are you using again?
  6. Whenever I work on exhaust bolts I expect them to break on removal. Simply buy replacements ahead of time and save the stress - that's my advice.
  7. Since the car is fuel injection you will need to inspect all of the hoses to the FI as even minor leaks will make the car run poorly. Replace any questionable hoses as they are weak point of this FI system.
  8. Moved to the correct section - please do a search in this section as many Boxster top issues have been resolved here.
  9. The CDR 23 anti-theft will check the DME for the correct handshake to operate -- problem is your DME does not have that capability. MY1999 has DME 5.2.2 for C2 and DME 7.2 for C4. CDR 23 requires DME 7.8 which started in MY2003. Besides the CDR 23 has MOST (fiber optic communication) so it likely will not work with your CD changer either. Sorry...
  10. Sorry, but I think you are beating a dead horse. Compared to what is available today PCM 1 is an Apple 1. There are many 3rd party solutions that are easier, less expensive, and have ten times the capability of PCM 1. If you must have the OEM look-and-feel then you best check with salvage yards for PCM 1 parts.
  11. Yes, it should fit fine. The 3 spoke air bag is the same for all 3 spoke steering wheels only the materials change (leather or leatherette).
  12. The C4S has the center reflector above the bumper that the Turbo does not have.
  13. Have you checked your fuel pressure?
  14. If the car has the newer style coils then they will be labeled A1 and A3 If they are the older style they will still be labeled 1 and 15
  15. Yes, clean the contact on the connections and check to see that the light comes on when you turn the ignition key to "on".

  17. Resistance between terminals 1 and 15 at 20 °C: 0.3 - 0.7 Ω
  18. Factory fill is Mobil 1 0W-40 but you can find oil discussion here ad nauseum. So please do not start another.
