  1. Please READ and follow the instructions in the Lost Radio Code FAQ. This topic is now closed.
  2. Yes, the latest cables are interchangeable and should work fine. 986 424 041 10 Cable -- US MSRP $393.00
  3. On PIWIS you can run individual module tests - so you would just skip the PCM tests.
  4. I guess you could disconnect the wire from the alternator (battery disconnected) and then check the resistance of the the B+ wire to chassis ground. If the resistance is low you have a bad short somewhere. Any third party add-ons or other electrical changes that might have caused this?
  5. B+ is the Black wire coming off the alternator. This is the main power for the start and the other electrical circuits. So check your alternator and starter connections as well as your chassis grounds.
  6. 1494 Parking light bulb, left Possible causes: - 'Short circuit to B+' Continuous lighting of side light bulb(s) can only be diagnosed when side light is switched off . - 'Short circuit to ground' Failure of side light bulb(s) can only be diagnosed when side light is switched on, fuse may be faulty - 'Open circuit/short circuit to B+' Continuous lighting of bulb(s) in the event of a'short circuit to B+', can only be diagnosed when side light is switched on. - 'Open circuit/short circuit to B+' No lighting of bulb(s) in the event of a'disconnection', can only be diagnosed when side light is switched on A direct short could cause the 1117 fault but best check the alternator connections (battery disconnected) also.
  7. How old is your battery? If it is 4 plus years old I would replace it. Cayenne's do some pretty strange stuff when the battery is weak.
  8. As I said you may have the wrong harness - either from a repair or accident. Mine also has 7 pins/wires.
  9. Not really that I have seen. I think there is less mass (weight) on the 3 spoke due to retaining support's triangular design.
  10. The jumper is likely in the plug (if it is factory). Best to take the cable off and check it with an ohm meter.
  11. Check your rear lid spoiler wiring harness - it should be 996 612 070 51. If it is not then someone switched it out for the stock harness. Check whether there is a jumper connecting pin 2 (which is already jumped from pin 1) to pin 5 on plug X23 of the new wiring harness (connection to the vehicle).
  12. Please READ the Lost Radio code FAQ "Can you give me a code for my PCM? These units are manufactured jointly by Siemens and Becker, and the only place where you can get the codes required is from the dealer/OPC. The PCM’s require two codes, the ICS/Siemens code and a Becker code. The ICS is the first code requested. Sorry, the only place you can get a PCM code is from a dealer/OPC."
  13. :welcome: We need the exact model and year of your car please...
  14. 8 times out of 10 cluster problems after disassembly are connectors not fully seated and locked in place. Give those a good hard look - as well look for bent pins.
  15. Yup, I have to do that on my MB daily driver too.
  16. Sorry, I meant to add this to the original post... http://www.renntech.org/forums/files/file/1416-compatibility-of-bluetooth-mobile-phones/ Thanks Richard.
  17. Sorry, no automation just me looking up each serial number.
  18. Yes the Boxster and Boxster S got different water temperature sensors in those years. (996.606.405.01 and 996.606.410.00 respectively). 2001 was also the first year of a new instrument cluster design. Did you program the DME and tell it the car is now a Boxster S? Change the "Order Type" from "986310" to "986320". This should also affect the DME power settings for the engine but will also likely take care of the water temperature. You will need a Porsche PST2 or PIWIS diagnostic tool to do this. Give that a try and tell me if that fixes all.
