  1. I am confused as the link does go to the Cayenne hatch strut replacement.
  2. :welcome: Yes, you will need a shop or dealer that has access to a Porsche PST2, PIWIS, or PIWIS 2 tester.
  3. L and R in the parts system refer to left and right as you sit in the car.
  4. If the first 3 numbers of the serial number are "640" and it is a US car then the engine was built in 1980. "640" is a US 1980 SC engine. "640" prefix was only used in 1980. "64E", "64F", or "64G" would be 930.21 engines - made in 1984, 85, and 86 respectively. Many times rebuilt engines of that vintage get put back together with an assortment of parts. I doubt you can garner anything from the serial number or engine code because of that. Needless to say if it has a 1980 (or later) engine it is not the original engine for that car.
  5. Please READ and follow the procedure in the Lost Radio code FAQ for your exact radio model.
  6. Sorry, a real PIWIS II tester can only be leased from Porsche for about $18,000 (USD) per year (includes updates for one year).
  7. Unless someone built it up to 3.2 it was not originally. Serial number 64003831 was factory built as a 3.0 liter engine in 1980.
  8. As JFP in PA said there are requirements for different options in a MOST system car. For your model year you need the correct cables and cable end points for your car's exact configuration. Once those are correct the system must be re-initialized to find all the correct components - this can only be done with a Porsche specific diagnostic tool (PIWIS or PIWIS 2).   9. A CDR-220 has a wire that is alarm wire. It is Brown wire with a blue stripe. This needs to be taped so it contacts nothing.
  10. One beep means you have at least one zone open. Two beeps says you have an alarm fault (that needs to be fixed). No beeps is normal. If you install an aftermarket radio head you need to cut and tape the alarm system wire that went to the factory radio. If you still have beeps after that you will need Durametric or a Porsche diagnostic tool (like PST2 or PIWIS) to location the exact cause of the problem.
