  1. No, the circuit is still sensing high resistance - that is what turns the warning light on.
  2. I would start looking for damaged wire(s). You may need to remove the wheel liner to see the wires and inspect.
  3. Let me do some research -- 997.2 had a new engine that has not really shown idler issues (at least not like the 996/997.1 series cars).
  4. MY2000 Porsche made some changes as all Carreras became e-gas. If your car had the non-egas version sensor that would be odd and likely would not work well. If it was that way from the factory then you would need a DME software update for the new sensor to work. I guess you can try and if it solves your problem - then great.
  5. Your car likely has 996 coil packs because most the engine (and production) in 2005 was the 996. The 997.1 and 996 share many more parts than Porsche would like you to think. The latest part for coil packs for your car is: 997 602 104 02. You will also need the shorter bolts 900 385 025 01 - two per coil pack. I do not know why you can mix them - they should read the same resistance. But then if 3 are cracked how long before the other three crack? The car is 11 years old and if it were my car I would replace them all.
  6. Did you check the bulb socket for corrosion and dirt? You get that message when the circuit resistance is too high -- it goes away when the problem is corrected.
  7. You may well need to change the brake/clutch fluid. If you do be sure to bleed both the brakes and the clutch as they share the same brake fluid circuit. See the DIY in the DIY Tutorials section. It is also possible that your clutch return spring has gone bad. Item 9 below. There should be no grease or oil on the pedal mechanism other than a small amount of white grease on the pivot shaft..

  11. Yes, all the V8 engines use the same relay.
  12. Always worth a try. Give it time to work though.
  13. Try a new relay. Any other wiring problems could take some time to trace down.
