  1. I think Tapatalk is working again -- at least it is for me.
  2. My Porsche 996 Service Manual says 17 ft-lbs for the cover.
  3. It is always helpful if you give us the exact model and year of the car.
  4. 6303619 is a 930.09 engine, 3.0 liter, 188 HP engine built (originally) in 1980.
  5. Most everything seems to be working. Tapatalk is currently working on fixes for their server application. Hopefully, they will get it fixed soon.
  6. I rest my case -- now let's get on to your problem...
  7. Really? I see nothing in the parts list about different throttle body or cable for the model year 2004 AE. How about a photo?
  8. Here you go... 986 2001 Relays.pdf
  9. Just to be 100% clear -- MY1999 996 C4 has egas -- MY1999 C2 is cable throttle still. Then MY2000 on has egas.
  10. Yes, you will likely need a Porsche shop (not necessarily a dealer) with a PIWIS tester to further diagnose your system fault. The Porsche diagnostic system will run a series of tests that will narrow down the fault(s) and what needs to be fixed/replaced. The comment about the key and the weight of items on a key chain is pretty much true for all cars. Best to keep the ignition key separate from other weighted items.
  11. Um... this is RennTech.org, not Rennlist.
  12. Start with obvious. Your car is 16 years old. Check the spark plugs on each of those cylinders - tight not cracked - and less than 30,000 miles. Check the spark plug connector with an ohm meter - it should be about 2k ohms. Check the coil packs with an ohm meter - Resistance between terminal 1 and terminal 15 at 20°C: 0.3 - 0.7 ohms. Of course look for corrosion or damaged spark plug wires.
  13. No, you will need to lock the steering wheel and then remove the universal joint of the steering column steering gear. Take out the clamping screw and then push the universal joint upwards.
