  1. Bob, The drivers side lining changed in MY01 so it is slightly different. The hood and and engine actuators went electric instead of mechanical. I need to know whether you have Comfort Seats (Option M537/538). Also, what color you want it in if not (A03) black. The plugs only come in black: 999 703 443 40
  2. C4S is different. Here is the spec:
  3. This mod allows you to turn the PSE on and off at will with the switch on the dash... for those that want that. I never installed the switch (or vacuum lines, etc.) on mine so it is open all the time. :D :D :D
  4. Colin, You've got mail...
  5. According to the schematic the two wires go no where (not connected) in the Bi-Xenon connector.
  6. Itzkirb and I have been looking at this and it looks like they are plug n play. Only difference that we can see is that there are two extra wires on the standard headlight units that are not connected on the Bi-Xenons. According to Gert there is not a factory upgrade kit so you would need a left and right Bi-Xenon headlight. The part numbers for the Carrera Bi-Xenons are: 996 631 059 20 Left Headlight assembly 996 631 060 20 Right Headlight assembly
  7. Usually most dealers (and shops) have a 1 hour minimum charge. I guess it's overhead
  8. Have a look at the thread here
  9. There was a TSB on this for a few Carrera's with Aerokits. The purge air fan in the engine compartment had the wire polarity reversed on the plug connector. On the these cars the fan incorrectly blew hot air out. (The fix is relatively simple as you just reverse the pins on the fan plug.) The correct function is for the fan to draw in cool air. You can test this (when the fan is running) by holding a sheet of paper between the spoiler and the engine compartment lid in the area of the ventilation slots. If the fan is functioning correctly, the sheet should be sucked on to the engine compartment lid.
  10. Sorry, the parts list shows the bulbs, control unit, motor and other electronic parts but the housing and lens are all one piece.
  11. Just follow the PSE removal instructions here. When you have the mufflers off you will attach the straight pipes directly to the cats. I hope you don't get the flat spot (that some folks have seen) in the mid-range of your hp and torque curve. Let me know if you have questions Yeah, it sounded great. Maybe I can make the next drive. I've been busy looking for a job...
  12. No. Just to be safe keep the key out of the ignition.
  13. Not sure I understand... we are talking about physically removing the battery cable from the battery. Is that what you are doing?
  14. Yes, that is fine. By disconnecting the negative battery lead you are removing the current path.
  15. Unplug the sensor (Item 3 is the sensor). Remove the two T20 security Torx screws (Item 4). Replace the sensor and tighten screws. Plug electrical connection back in.
  16. The RUF short shift kit (for 99-01) reduces the throw by either 30%, 40% or 50%. It depends on where you set it.
  17. If there is a enough interest we will add a Cup Car Section. Thanks!
  18. Ahh... I think I get it now. I should have remembered what you are doing. I think the issue is the oil level sender - mismatch. The TT has a different oil level sender than the Boxster and Carrera. The Boxster and Carrera read the oil level out of the engine sump and the TT/GT2/GT3 read it out of the oil tank. Hmm... I wonder if their is a different impedance in the TT sensor. Jeff - if you read this perhaps you can ask Peter about this... in the meantime I'll try and do some research.
  19. My understanding of the oil measurement was that the timer in the instrument cluster (time since last start) senses how much delay before attempting to read the oil level (the sensor is in the oil tank on TT/GT2/GT3). The car being level is up to the operator. The only level sensing units on the car that I am aware of are for the Litronics/Bi-Xenon headlights. (Except for the cabs where there is rollover sensing). If you know differently please enlighten me...
  20. I'm not the Boxster guy but if you are talking about item 1 in this diagram then it is: 996 201 221 03
  21. The B&M short shifter instructions actually have a very good set of instructions with pictures. You can download them here
  22. I agree that brake fluid should be changed at least every two years and more often if you track the car. This will remove moisture and air from the system that are byproducts of the tremendous heating and cooling that the brakes do during normal operation. This is a easy DIY with a power bleeder (about $40) and about 1 hour of time. I have a DIY instructions for brake and clutch flushing/bleeding in my DIY section here
  23. I'm not familiar with the Techart Type 1 rear wing but if it is like the TT Aerokit wing then there are 2 cheese head screws on each side that hold the spoiler wing on. The TT uses microencapsulated cheese head screws on each side so if you don't have those be sure and put some Loctite on the threads so they don't vibrate out.
  24. Do you mean TSB 12/03 6807 Stainless-steel illuminated door entry guard Installation instructions (dated 9/3/03)? ;) ;) I'll email it to you...
