  1. Here are the torque values: headers to head 19 ft-lbs. muffler hanger (three 13 mm nuts) 17 ft-lbs. cat pipe to muffler clamps 34 ft-lbs tailpipe clamp 22 ft-lbs. Use a new gasket between the header and the cylinder head. That's it.
  2. You've got mail... There are no schematics that show the PSE function. The speedometer A wire signals the relay when the car is between and 35 and 45 MPH. The relay then moves a solenoid in the engine compartment that switches the vacuum valve on each muffler causing the flap to move and no longer bypass that section of the muffler. If the speed exceeds 45 MPH the relay opens the exhaust valves again. Using the switch you can override the speedometer link and have quiet at any time you want or do a complete bypass that will have quiet only when the switch is on.
  3. Your dealer maybe correct as I have not seen a TSB for this yet. The parts list does show a new part number with a "use instead" marking. There are two cardan shafts listed (one for the S and one for the Turbo) but I don't know which is for which... so you'll have to look at the part number on your current one. For the 955 421 020 10 use the new cardan shaft 955 421 020 11 or for the 955 421 020 20 use the new cardan shaft 955 421 020 21.
  4. Unplug the battery for at least 5 minutes -- remember to find your radio codes first ;)
  5. The bulb is: 900 631 106 90 The socket assembly includes: 959 632 201 01 light 815 971 989 B plug socket N 017 490 6 connectors (2 needed) Chances are you just need the bulb and holder (what they call light)

  7. If you have a MY99-MY01 you must use the older lights (or change the fenders and bumper also). If you want the Litronic's to work as the factory intended (low beams mix with the high beams for even more light when high beams are on)... then you will need the upgrade kit that includes the wiring and control boxes. The part number for this kit 000 044 900 64. On the MY02 lights the 59/60 lights are Litronic high and low beams (or Bi-Xenon) and the 55/60 lights are Halogen (standard). But you can't use those on your car ;)
  8. With the radio on, hold the "TP" button for 5 seconds until the active screen "Becker" appears. Then turn the right hand knob one click at a time until the radio window displays the serial number of the radio. Once you have this info, you can call PCNA or any dealer for that matter and they can get the code for you. You may be asked to prove you are the registered owner.
  9. If you are not receiving topic or forum notices and emails from RennTech.org then you may likely need to set your email service to accept emails from admin@renntech.org. Recently I have been receiving several failed email notices per day. In almost every case the message relates to email addresses refusing "spam". AOL and several other services allow you to "refuse" email from sources that don't appear to name you in the email address. All automated responses from this board are sent blind to protect email addresses (i.e. from admin@renntech.org). Again, if you want to use the topic/forum notification features (and want others to be able to blind email you) on the board you need to add/allow email from admin@renntech.org. Please feel free to contact me if you have questions or problems. Thanks! and Happy Holidays to All
  10. Yes, it is a 10 minute job with a PST2. No advance prep needed. Yes, the cluster design was updated in MY02. It is a fairly major change so you will need gauges out of a MY02 or newer car with a like transmission (Tip cluster is different also). Yes, if you know the tricks. Do a search here for cluster and you will find several posts with pics.
  11. The rear bumper on RoW MY02 on and the GT3 are the same. Part number 996 505 411 12. (Note: This is not the US rear bumper part number) The bumper reinforcement and heat shield changed in MY02 also. The heat shields likely because of the engine change. It looks like it may fit... but you will have to give it a try.
  12. 661 (in the serial number) signifies the case was built for MY01.
  13. Mike, Have a look at this post (very last comment by Mike in CA). Is this what you are after?

To connect non-MOST components you will need to add any wiring needed by those components (MOST is optical). You will also need to have your dealer remove the CDR23 from the MOST computer by disabling it with a PST2.
  15. Very interesting? Exactly backwards. Can't be the wrong switch as there is only one for all markets. The wiring connector also appears to be asymetrical - so it can't be installed upsidedown. I wonder if the pins are all reversed in the connector? or if you have a RHD harness?
  16. If you are losing coolant then you have a leak. Several possibilities could be the cause. Most frequent are a cracked coolant tank, leaking tank cap, and leaking hoses. An internal failure (where coolant is in the oil) is also possible but fairly rare. A good shop should pressure test the system (using proper testing tools) and locate the leak. For tank leaks look around the base of the tank in the engine compartment and down under the car (after a drive). Cap leaks usually leave a trace of coolant near the cap and hose leaks could be anywhere under the car from the front radiators back. Tanks, caps and hoses are all pretty easy fixes.
  17. Sorry, thought I answered this... The fuel tank sits laterally between the front axle and firewall. In a C4 or C4S in has a saddle like configuration that lets it sit over the front drive axle.
  18. Well, that blocks off the baffle -- but still does not remove it. A while ago I tried to remove the baffle then clamp the plug in place and the orange plugs are just not rigid enough. IMHO... to get the maximum effect you need to remove the baffle (to increase the air volume in the housing). In order to do this you need a better sealing rigid cap like the Fabspeed one. What you don't want is an air (and dirt) leak on the clean side of the air filter - which is where this mod goes.

There is also a list of MOST components and part numbers here.
  21. I sent you the TSB. Please remember that this is a PCNA version of the TSB so RoW versions may differ. When asking for warranty type work - out of warranty it is best to have a history (documentation) backup for all previous problems. In most cases that I am aware of Porsche has been very fair with their customers.
  22. Have a look at my DIY section at the top of this forum. The oil change DIY is here
  23. Yes. Those will fit any MY02 or newer Carrera.
  24. They are slightly different on different MY cars. What year is your car?
  25. For the side panel: 1. Remove the rose cover where the seatbelt exits the side panel by pulling up and off. 2. Behind that you will find one phillips head screw. Remove that (without dropping it behind the panel). 3. Use a hex socket to remove the rear seat locking pin. The rest of the panel should now lift and slide out. 4. Disconnect the rear speaker wiring connection. For the B pillar: 1. Lift the clothes hook bracket up and off. 2. Press seat belt height adjuster release out of the hex head bolt using a screwdriver. 3. Unscrew the hex head bolt of the seat belt.
