  1. Yes, sorry been kind of busy so I haven't had as much "research" time as I'd like. I think the Cayenne headlight leveling is part of the vehicle leveling system. So I think they get the signals from the existing system (unlike the carrera that needs a level sensor for each wheel). Porsche provides wiring diagrams in the service manuals. These (specifically) simply cover US/Canada lighting and RoW lighting and usually have insets for standard lights vs. Xenon. So you would have to read the schematics and compare. Alas, I do not have a Cayenne service manual. I thought they were outrageous at $1500 last year when they came out (no Porsche repair manual had previously been over $500). I even thought I had a dealer that was going to give me one and then he looked at HIS cost and it was over $2500. Then in January of this year Porsche raised all manual prices by more than three times! As an example an OBD II manual that was $250 is now $896! Yikes! What the heck is Porsche thinking? Anyway, it is likely possible to this but we need to see the schematics...
  2. Front Axle Measurement Rear Axle Measurment IMHO... If you just want a firmer ride then go with the X74. If you want to be able to adjust the ride height the go with a coilover kit. As Karl said just putting the suspension components on a Carrera won't work. You will also need GT3 wheel carriers and control arms front and rear, etc. If you want GT3 type handling the closest you are going to get is with coilovers and GT3 swaybars (unless you buy a GT3 of course). Good Luck on you decision...
  3. Sorry, according to the parts list the side skirts are Tequipment only and only sold as a kit.
  4. And the OBD II error codes are? You can get these with any scan tool. Some auto parts stores will read your codes for free too.

I would start by comparing the alignment specs and ride heights (see below): Carrera GT3 A PSS9 (or H&R Coilovers for that matter) are coilover shocks that are completely adjustable (within a range). The X74 kit is very stiff shocks and springs and reenforcements for the stiffer components. Cars built before MY2002 do not have the additional chassis reinforcement needed for an X74 kit. My understanding is that you can go back and weld those components in but the factory does not recommend it. Both will lower your car more than RoW M030 Sport suspension will. With the coilover option you can go even lower as they are intended for racing. What is your goal? I ask because at some point you may have a car that is very hard to drive on the street without risk of engine damage etc..
  6. You can put coilovers on any Carrera. The GT3 sway bars may need to have mounts made. The Racers Group sells these as do a few other companies.
  7. Go to the TSB section and sort them by year. All of the 1998 and some of the 1999 TSBs were for updated parts. (Although they were doing a 3rd rev of coolant tanks as late as 2002) :lol:

  10. If your package code (under your front hood) is M012 (Sport Design Package) then the color is C02 Metal Grey. This was a special lacquered color for MY98 on. I don't see it in touch up paint list... so you might have to have a shop mix it or replace the plastic parts that are badly scratched.
  11. A single clamp with one bolt (15 mm deep socket as I recall). When you reinstall them make sure that they are properly aligned with the bumper cover both left to right and vertically. On MY02 and newer the tip should stick out about 7 to 10 mm (when viewed from the side). And, the tip should clear the bumper outlet on top by 22 mm. Slightly tighten -- align -- fully tighten is the best sequence.
  12. They look like comfort seats to me (which are standard seat backs and electronic controls). Memory seats are a seperate option and standard seats only have electric backrest adjustment.

  17. I would say 5 to 7 hours labor at $100 to $120 per hour (for a good shop). Use the RoW Sport alignment specs here.
  18. I think so too. What type of seat? standard, comfort, sports or GT3? ;) Post a pic and I'll get you the instructions.
  19. 996 521 781 00 emblem (2 needed) 999 919 983 09 screw 3.5 x 25 (2 needed) This is not the same as the coat hook screw it is shorter (coat hook screw is 5.0 x 25).
  20. The mufflers are not the problem with changing the plugs -- the problem is the headers. Only two plugs are difficult to get to. Just plain a PITA. Older cars only need plugs every 30,000 and the newer cars (MY02 on) only get plugs every 60,000. I would not recommend taking the headers off to change the plugs -- that would take longer. Just make sure you have the right tools is the best advice I can give.

  22. MY99 to MY 01 use the same gear boxes. Only C2 vs. C4 are different.
  23. 235 will fit under all conditions that I have seen. Some 245s may rub a little at full lock but will likely be okay too. I assume you are talking stock wheel offsets.
  24. The blue and black cables have nothing to do with the shifters "tightness". They adjust the cable throw on the transmission. If you are having trouble getting into a gear move the black cable one notch at at time and then test. As msindni said the Blue cable is for reverse.
