  1. You need to read (and follow the instructions) in the Lost Radio Code FAQ... This topic is now closed.
  2. Fault code 5525 Incorrect data exchange from DME I would clear this code and see if it comes back.
  3. One beep means an alarm zone is open. Twp beeps means there is an alarm fault. Without a diagnostic tool to read the alarm fault(s) everything is just an (expensive) guessing game. You need to get the car read with a Porsche specific diagnostic tool (i.e. Durametric, higher end Autel scanners, or Porsche PIWIS).
  4. Fault code 1236 (P0841) Shiftlock solenoid Troubleshooting in the Porsche service manual says to replace just that solenoid. It might be a good thing to try another shop.
  5. Try Durametric or PIWIS. Porsche Boxster airbag codes for your model year car go from 1 to 88. And, anything that is 100 or higher is a bad airbag triggering unit. When I have seen a (rare) airbag triggering unit failure is was always accompanied by additional individual airbag fault codes. That's why I say try a different tester. Also are you sure you got the correct airbag for your car - they changed (due to law changes) in MY2002. So if you have an airbag from an earlier car it won't likely work.
  6. Depending on your brake size and design (steel vs ceramic) the torque specs will be different.
  7. P0441 Fuel tank ventilation system above limit value/below limit value Possible cause of fault - Tank vent faulty (remains stuck in an open or closed position) - Tank vent installed the wrong way round - Leak in scavenging lines between tank vent and positive crankcase ventilation - Scavenging lines between tank vent and positive crankcase ventilation trapped or blocked
  8. You did not read the Lost Radio Code FAQ... "Can you give me a code for my PCM? These units are manufactured jointly by Siemens and Becker, and the only place where you can get the codes required is from the dealer/OPC. The PCM’s require two codes, the ICS/Siemens code, and a Becker code. The ICS is the first code requested. Sorry, the only place you can get a PCM code is from a dealer/OPC."
  9. You are going to need a Porsche specific scanner like Durametric or Porsche PIWIS. Two beeps means that there is an alarm system fault(s). The faults will usually exactly where the problem is.
  10. For this instance... M96/03 is the series number. The first 3 numbers of the engine serial number map to a specific production year (665 maps to 2005 for this engine series). The numbers that follow are the actual engine serial number.
  11. Yes, the serial number confirms that the engine 665 68531 was manufactured in 2005.
  12. Both the front hood switch and the fuel door solenoid are rad by the alarm control box. If you have Durametric I think you can test the functions. Does your car chirp once or twice when you lock the car? It not not chirp at all. One chirp says one (or more zones) are open - and two chirps says there is an alarm fault.
  13. Just remove the headlight and follow this procedure.
  14. 1. Unless you track the car I would go with OEM - they work very well. Also, since the brake wear light is on I think you should plan on replacing the rotors as well. 2, Do a search here you may have a bad vent valve or pinched hoses. Both are covered here. 3. Not sure what you are taking about. Something rolling around in the door? 4. Whenever you see electrical anomalies - check your battery and charging circuit. If your battery is 4 years old or older it should be replaced. Another common electrical issue that causes wonky thing is a worn out ignition switch. If you wiggle the key while the ignition is on and funny things happen - then the ignition switch need to be replaced. 5. Likely a micro-switch or a worn out window regulator. Either way you will need to remove the door panel (cover here also) for access. 6. Adjustments likely - also a good time to inspect the ball joints and micro-switches on the top mechanism. 7. Bentley is an adequate service manual or online service AllDataDIY.com. The best is Durametric - it does many custom Porsche diagnostics and re-programming about $287. If you only have a basic emissions issue then a generic scanner will likely do - but most respectable ones are $100 plus - so I would spend the extra and get Durametric.

  16. P1181 Positive Crankcase Ventilation Heater Output Stage – Below Limit Possible fault cause - Short circuit to ground in triggering wire - Positive crankcase ventilation heater faulty (short circuit to engine ground) - DME control module faulty
