  1. That part number is for the door handle only (sorry Porsche had bad naming in the parts list). If you want the rest of the door panel it would be (for a MY2000 Cab): 996 555 121 05 ETD Graphite Grey Leather - Door Panel (Left) 996 555 122 05 ETD Graphite Grey Leather - Door Panel (Right)
  2. The part number is for the door panel lining - but it needs a color code to be complete. I'll sent you a PM with instructions.
  3. There are 4 different emergency wheels for 996's depending on year and model. My guess is that some are based on trunk area and some are based on body type (i.ae. C4S vs. coupe). There are no specs in the parts list for wheel size - but then these are not meant to go more than 50 miles. I don't see any reason why one would not work.
  4. The is a complete wheel set. I do not know if it includes tires or not.
  5. For oil changes you don't even need ramps. I use 2 x 10s - three per side. More than enough clearance.
  6. TWC= Three Way Catalytic Converter. These codes means that what is going on is damaging to the catalytic converter (flashing CEL) and the car should not be driven. Potential causes for this are: - wrong, fouled or faulty spark plugs - bad spark plug connectors - loose or broken spark coils - valve lifters (if chattering) - camshaft control (on that bank) - Variocam not switching over properly A scan tool should be connected looking for other codes. As well you should check to see if the adaptation values in area 1 differ in bank 1 and bank 2 (e.g. TRA=0.02/TRA2=0.27), the adaptation values for area 2 are generally normal.
  7. Coolant hose. The parts list says to use a newer 996 106 233 55 instead (if available).

  10. Porsche only sells the whole lens assembly. 996 632 151 00 Lens (for MY99) - retail $14.60
  11. Does it "spring" open? If not then the spring may be backwards or not on the right points. Shouldn't make any noise either.
  12. The only Canadian (only) sticker in the parts list is: 993 701 422 02 airbag sticker about - retail is about $2.56 US
  13. I haven't measured it but it looks pretty tight. The toolbox now sits in the lower part of the trunk so I doubt it will fit. You could never fit a rear tire in the front trunk in a 996 so maybe the air/repair bottle is a good solution.

  15. C2? Well, the suggested way is to remove the wheel carrier and press the bearing out using a hydraulic press. Some (automotive) machine shops will let you bring in the part and they will press it out for you fairly inexpensively. Installation also requires that you heat the new bearing to 100 degrees C (or about 210 F in your oven). If you are careful and mark all of the positions before undoing the bolts you might get away without an alignment. Might be good to have it checked afterwards anyway.

  17. Pretty much, but you will still need to remove the hardware (items 2,3 8,9, 10) on the side panels or it will stick out.

  19. Well, in a pinch I've use a pair of pliers - almost hit me in the face though. :rolleyes: A pop rivet tool is available at most hardware stores and doesn't cost much. Racers use them to hold sheet metal in place on race cars and obviously you can use a metal rivet on places that get hot - unlike racers tape (or duct tape).

  21. That looks very good - but it would be a lot of effort. If you've got a couple days to do it and some teflon tape and felt tape (anti-squeak) - then go for it.
