  2. :welcome: Take the distributor cap off and turn the engine until the rotor points at cylinder 1. If you are at TDC then the mark on the pulley will be at 12 o'clock, the next mark will be at 4 o'clock and the last mark will be at 8 o'clock.
  3. Loren, did you have a hard time getting the plate and the braces back on? I changed my transmission oil today (2003 Boxster S) and was surprised how hard it was to get the holes to line up with the studs, for both the plate and the braces. I was worried that I had pulled it out of alignment by using ramps instead of jack stands. But looking at your photos, you used ramps too. Wondering if you had any alignment problems after doing this? Thanks I didn't do these - member schreb did. As I recall it might take a little pushing to get them back in place.
  4. I think if the Variocam were not working right you would get poor torque in the mid-range. The MAF is critical for high RPM since it measures the air flow.
  5. VarioCam is deactivated at 5120 RPM. I think he has a bad MAF.
  6. If the only thing you get out of PCA is the magazine (Panorama) - it is well worth it (IMHO).   7. Yes, they are the same for all four wheels. There is a different part number for MY03 and newer as well as C4S.
  8. "after-market spoiler" - I think you will need to talk to the spoiler manufacturer.
  9. You can certainly look at your oil but I would start by looking for cracked coil packs on cylinder 5 and 6. On MY99 they are old and brittle and can certainly crack - especially if they were ever overtightened.

  11. Yes, 5 watts. If you have clear side markers then you will need the orange bulb (in the US).
  12. My advice is to be very very careful. A new PIWIS from Porsche is $18,000. There have been many software updates - so check the version.   14. As of MY02 all 911 models are fitted with belt tensioners and belt-force tensioners. The pyrotechnic ball belt tensioner is combined with the belt-force limiter in one unit. Yes, disconnect the battery and remove the key from the ignition. Wait at least 5 minutes before proceeding. The electrical connection (fuse/trigger) to the seat belt reel will likely need a screwdriver to remove it. If the belt fires the tensioner then it will have to be replaced.

  16. Ah... the spoiler light. If you have a fixed spoiler then it is normal to come on until the car reaches 5 mph.
  17. You only need to remove the wheel to replace the wheel well lining. See the DIY for the gas flap lock - we removed the whole wheel liner there. Replacing the Gas Door Actuator

  19. A1 goes to the cluster B1 goes to the 8 plug socket on the engine (current distribution)
