Fault code 33 - Passenger compartment: monitoring sensor faulty Possible cause of fault Replace passenger compartment monitoring sensor Fault code 42 - Wrong key or wrong transponder pill Possible cause of fault - Wrong transponder - not adapted to the vehicle (fresh battery and re-training maybe needed) - Short circuit to ground/voltage or open circuit in the wiring between the signal converter and alarm system control module Fault code 54 - Radio receiver defective Possible cause of fault - Alarm system control module faulty (also if you have an after market radio this fault would occur too). Fault code 60 - Central locking limit position 'Locked' not reached Possible cause of fault - Central locking switch faulty - Short circuit to ground/open circuit in wiring between the alarm system control module, central locking switch or door locks - Driver's/passenger's door lock faulty - Control module faulty (sometimes this fault also occurs if you hit the alarm set button before the door is closed completely).

  7. Sometimes it is a small pebble caught between the rotor and the splash shield or other debris. If it does not happen again I would not worry about it.
  8. A standard OBD II reader will not report airbag fault codes - only emissions faults. You need the Durametric Software, a PST2 or PIWIS to read and reset airbag codes.
  9. They used two different PCCB rotors in MY05 - chances are you or your dealer will have to read the part number. Both are better than the rev 1 version but I think the latest version is the best.
  10. Only dealers can access Porsche's database of repairs.
  11. Read - Read - Read --- there are many other tips here and fall back solutions....

  13. Strange... more trivia... a mistake or planned and never used? The only cruise light light that I know of is item 4 in the diagram above.

  16. That list would likely change every month. That is why Porsche does updates to it's PET (parts system) every month. To some degree we already have that for Contributing Members... if you look up a part number in the US Retail Price Search (available to Contributing Members only) it will show you the replacement part number (for example if you search for the old coolant tank cap 99610644700 it will repsond with "SS 99610644701".This means that the part has been replaced with a new part number.). Not exactly a cross reference but it does make sure you are getting the latest part number.

  21. A Porsche rebuilt engine part number alway (as least all that I have seen) end in _X (i.e. BX or DX , etc.).
  22. 996.641.103.03.70C is a direct replacement for 996.641.103.01.70C. There should be little if any difference.
