  1. Did you you read the warning note in the Owners Manual?
  2. Hello again Loren, I just bought a 1999 996 and the center console lid is broken (as you have stated above). Please advise me on a repair. It looks like I'll have to replace the complete console as the only thing holding the lid on is the little strap. Thanks for any help, Patrick Ford :welcome: Broken Oddments Tray Hinge DIY
  3. Try 2855 or 2853
  4. Try 2886 or 2884 Hi Loren, I tried 2886, 2884 and 2882. None of them worked. Any other one i should try? Thanks Frank You did not read this did you? Lost Radio Code - FAQ -- PLEASE READ THIS FIRST Yes i did, but thought you might have other ideas. Thanks anyways, I'll call the dealer tomorrow. If I had any other ideas I would put them in the FAQ. Sorry...

  7. Try 1266 or 1264
  8. No other toll that I am aware of except for a PIWIS tester. Even then Porsche requires special codes (IPAS) on a per car basis to change some things or add some options. What specifically do you want to change?

    Alarm sounding

Yes, but most good shops have one or the other.

  11. I serious doubt Porsche would stock the same part under 2 different numbers - not very cost effective.
  12. Try 2886 or 2884

  14. Try 4677 or 4675
  15. This is a pic of my head lights on my 996tt. Are these the Litronics with the fish eye looking lens? Yes, and all 996TT's have Bi-Xenon (like Litronic).
  16. It not going to be in PET because it is a racing part. Racing parts are sold by Porsche MotorSports. 996.722.693.92 Towing Eye 996.722.801.90 Return Spring 900.075.457.02 M8 x 30 Bolt (2 required)

  18. M601 would would be on the option list (even if it were standard).
  19. The microswitch is in the latch mechanism. So, you have to remove the latch, replace the switch and then realign the latch as you re-install.
  20. Normally, you remove the wheel well liner to access the washer tank.

:welcome: I think you are going to need to find someone with a Bosch Hammer or PST2 (with the older round connector) to find out what circuit is triggering the alarm.
  22. Welcome, It used to be in the owners manual but was removed in 06 by Porsche. However the 05 manual is available for download for contributing members on here: 05 987 Owners Manual The pages you are after are from 185. You don't have to be a Contributing Member to download the Owners Manuals.
  23. 997TT uses 997 part numbers.
  24. Try 0518 or 0516
  25. I would like to see the fault code(s). This can also be caused by a faulty brake light switch (easy to test - have someone observer if your brake lights come on when the pedal is depressed). It can also be caused by a bad MAF. The ABS controller would be the last thing I suspect (especially without codes).
