  1. Since they are not Porsche wheels the tire size will also depend on the wheels offset. Check the offset numbers for the fronts and rears.
  2. on a side note, the card that came with the radio says serial# BE 6625 1 5003216 code #8326 not sure if this helps Don't trust the card use the readout on the radio (see the FAQ). Lots of older radios were replaced for peeling buttons and the new radio card may not have found its way to the owner. (I had the same thing when my radio was replaced under warranty). The radios for Boxster and Carrera are the same.
  3. Model and year of your car please? and manual or Tiptronic (the locks are different)?

Resistance: approx. 2 k ohms Check ignition coil(s). Resistance between terminal 1 and terminal 15 at 20°C: 0.3 - 0.7 ohms You might want to try an oil change too. If you really have a stuck lifter or two this might be a cheap fix - short of removing and replacing the lifters. If is is not one of the"easy" things you may need a PST2 or PIWIS to further diagnose mixtures and cam actuation and sensor readouts.
  5. It gets the readings from the one sensor - so I would suspect both would be off if the sensor or wiring were bad.
  6. If it is just the oil pressure gauge/reading then it is likely the sender (sensor). I would check that first. If you had a plethora of electrical problems I would suspect the ignition switch. But as I said start with the sender and its wiring connection.
  7. Please do not double post. Your second post has been deleted.
  8. From the FAQ... Can you give me a code for my PCM? Sorry, the only place you can get a PCM code is from a dealer/OPC.
  9. From Peter Smith's comments on the PCA website: "Question: Is there any way to increase the range of the keyless entry system as I must be standing almost next to the vehicle to get the doors to open. Also, the keyless remote won't unlock the rear hatch unless I step around from behind the car. Take a hint...make it work better, faster and from further away. Answer: Sorry, for this problem you will have to wait and see if Porsche comes out with something different to increase the range of the system. There are already a bunch of antennas in the car but the range doesn't seem that great. Only time will tell for now. Peter Smith - PCA WebSite - 9/13/2003"
  10. Don't press too hard - you are trying to loosen it - not pop it off or break the transmission housing.
  11. The alarm horn is next to the battery - the two horns that are connected to the steering wheel are behind the front bumper. So there are 3 horns. These horns die all the time so you may want to test them with a 12 volt source.
  12. I don't think it matters whether it is in gear or not. I think it is just stuck on the shaft. I would likely try to pry it a little with two wooden pry sticks - maybe just enough to loosen the stuck shaft.
  13. :welcome: Sorry about your trouble. Do a search here and you will learn how to access the emergency release cable behind the right front wheel well liner.
  14. mcm97, TSBs are viewable on this site by our Contributing Members. If you would like to find out more about becoming one click here.
  15. It should come straight out if the transmission is horizontal.
  16. 1. Check the power supply for the signal converter:Disconnect the connector on the signal converter. Voltmeter at plug housing pin 4 (negative) and pin 5 (positive).Ignition key inserted. Display: Battery voltage.2. Check the control line for the signal converter (pin 6) to the alarm control unit plug I pin 4 for continuity, positive short and ground short.3. Check the status line for the signal converter (pin 7) to the alarm control unit plug I pin 12 for continuity, positive short and ground short.4. Check the data line for the signal converter (pin 8) to the alarm control unit plug I pin 3 for continuity, positive short and ground short.
  17. The good folks at Sunset Imports (Porsche Parts at Dealer Cost) have made a special offer for RennTech.org Members. You can now purchase the full factory Boxster (986) Service Manual Set (15 volumes) for only $200. Considering what I paid for my manuals (years ago) this is a fantastic price. To place your order email porscheatcost@sunsetimports.com or call them at 1-800-346-0182. Thank you Sunset Imports!
  18. You would need to replace all the linings - which can be done. But... the large main lining (item 6) in leather has a US MSRP of $1070.96
  19. Drive the car - if the lights came on after a battery change (smog check) then there will be no faults and they will reset in a few miles. If there is still a problem will not go out and you will need a code reader to see what the issue is.
  20. There are many things it could be before your DME (Engine Computer). You should find a shop with some test equipment like the Durametric Software, a PST2, or PIWIS tester and have them look at your air flow (MAF reading). And, as I said check for damage on that one sensor - it is fairly common to have mice (or other rodents) eat away the insulation on wires during storage. We've seen and heard it it here many times.
