  2. Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  3. Check ignition coil(s). Resistance between terminal 1 and terminal 15 at 20°C (68° F): 0.3 - 0.7 Ohms
  4. I don't think the sunroof is that smart. I think all the "brains" are in the drive motor/circuit board assembly. For your older car I wonder if the sunroof drive was upgraded per TSB 12a/98 6014 New Sunroof Drive Motor -- dated 9-10-99. It says "As of February 1, 1999, and VIN: 99 XXS 62 5423, a new tilting/sliding roof drive assembly with enhanced circuitry is installed in production. The new drive assembly has optimized final-position settings that result in lower noise levels."
  5. I am going to close this as you already have a thread on this subject.
  6. You need have your car towed to your dealer. Could be a blown headgasket or other internal damage.
  7. They should be fine out of the box (as long as you do not drop them ;) ).
  8. My sunroof switch loses it's memory a couple times per year. I re-train it and it is fine for several months. I think this is just a problem with these cars.
  9. Look for leaks first - almost two gallons of coolant is a lot to lose. I assume no smoke?
  10. Since your car is still under warranty - I suggest you take it to the dealer and get the complaint documented. They can read any pending codes and have a look at your car's current OBD II performance. Certainly if you have had any "miss" there should be fault codes.
  11. For Gen 2 Cayennes the parts list shows the same parts for US and RoW cars.
  12. Both cats and muffler can break internal welds and make ticking, rattling, clunking sounds. Not to mention heatshields. You might want to check those out first.
  13. Bad coils have cracks - and usually end up causing a misfire and CEL. I guess you could try cleaning the MAF.
  14. How many miles? When were the plugs changed last? Have you inspected the coils? When have you last cleaned the throttle body? I doubt it is any injector issue (maybe he was a 993 or 964 driver ;) )
  15. Yes, the exclusive option knobs are held on by a set screw. I don't recall mine being too tight. It may just have some thread locker on it.
  16. Is the Tiptronic warning lamp on the dash on?
  17. This is a great opportunity. We rarely get the use of a lift. If you have a project you would like to do please post it here. As soon as we get a few projects we will try to set a date for the event. Certainly within the next couple of months.
  18. Fault code 4340 Stop light switch Possible cause of fault: - Short circuit to ground/B+ or open circuit - Wiring/plug connection faulty - Mechanism of the stop light switch not OK - Adjustment of the stop light switch not OK - Pressure sensor plausibility P1574 Stop Light Switch – Signal Implausible Fault area: Both stop light switches closed. – Stop light switch – Wiring harness If they have replaced the switches then the problem is likely the wiring. There are simple tests to determine the problem in the manuals. You will also need a special tool used to measure continuity to the DME and a volt/ohm meter.
  19. Those are from the Consumer Reports website or magazine they are published both places.
