    No, I would look at finding the source of the leak. Could be a loose clamp or bad hose or ? Certainly worth the 30 minutes to pull the bumper cover and have a close look at the front end.

    Your radio was likely replaced and the new card was lost. Try 4962 or 4960 There is no code for CDC-3. For CDC u cant help me?

    There are no overflows or other outlets at the front of the car - only the radiators and hoses. Are you sure it is coolant and not windshield cleaning fluid or condensation from the AC? Coolant smells sweet.

    CDC-3 is the CD Changer and has nothing to do with the radio code. If the code(s) I gave you did not work then you will need to contact a dealer - sorry.

    VarioCam will be fine as they should be the same (VarioCam Plus did not come in until MY02 on the Carrera - DME 7.8). The 2.5 liter car has DME 5.2.2 (non-egas). The 3.2 liter engine is DME 7.2 (egas). You are going from a non egas engine to egas - so either the DME will need to be 7.2 or you would need to take the intake off the 2.5 liter and put it on the 3.2.

    Yes, that is correct. Yes and no. There is only one fuel filter and it is under the car (as shown above) on C2 and Boxsters. On C4 and MY02 and later cars (including C4S) it mounts next to the coolant tank. I think am missunderstanding something - for MY02 C2 is the first quote correct (fuel filter integrated with the fuel pump) or is the second quote correct (fuel filter mounted next to the coolant tank)? Or is it some combination of the two? David The fuel system and fuel return changed in MY02. So, previous to MY02 the fuel filter was either under the center of the car (C2) or mounted on the coolant tank (C4). Prior to MY02 the fuel filter was to be changed every 30,000 miles. As of MY02 and the returnless fuel system - the fuel filter is integrated with the fuel pump and never needs to changed unless the tank is contaminated.

    From a warranty point of view it does not matter if you do it, a 3rd party shop does it, or a dealer does it. As long as it is performed on time, that it is complete and it is documented there can be no claim of abuse.

    The new switch/sensor is 997.641.503.00 -- US MSRP $21.95 It has its own sealing surface.

    Item 3 is your MAF. To remove it for cleaning or replacement you will need a Security Torx T20. I bought a complete set of security Torx drivers at Harbor Freight for under $5.

    Did you check the pump reservoir liquid level? this is the hydraulic pump that raises / lowers the entire top system. It is a common issue where after a few years the liquid level gets too low. There are very detailed instructions to do this. My 03 started acting up... and level was low... adding about 8 oz... fixed it perfectly I am new to a 996 Cabriolet. Can you please tell me where the instructions for filling the pump reservoir liquid level is? I looked in the manual and cannot find any mention of it! Thanks!     The cap can leak (especially if it ends in 00) and the sensor at the bottom of the coolant tank is also a known problem. There are other hoses but none that would leak onto the exhaust (that I recall).

    Sounds like a cracked coolant tank to me.

    2 beeps means there is an uncorrectable alarm fault. 1 beep usually means one zone is open.

    If you have a MY99 then you have a dipstick too. What does the dipstick show?
