    The valves are switched via electrical solenoids but the valves are moved by engine vacuum. Usually engine vacuum comes up pretty quick after the engine is started.

    Generally speaking PLDPROD status means your car is usually built within a couple of weeks.

    If your radio is a CDR-220 - then no MOST. If your radio is a CDR-23 - then you likely have MOST.

    Your DME can not make the mixture rich enough (it sees too much air). Potential causes: – Incorrect signal from MAF sensor – Intake air system leaking – Fuel pressure too low – Volume supply of fuel pump too low – Fuel injectors fouled I would start with the MAF. Since the problem indicates both sides of the engine - it is likely getting a bad MAF signal. You can try cleaning it - but may need to replace it.

    If this happens at start up then have your dealer perform TSB 3/00 1728 Lack of Oil Pressure on Start Up (dated 7-27-00).

    Not too difficult. Raise the side of the car with the bad fan and remove the front wheel. Remove the wheel well liner on that side. You should now have access to the fan mounting.

    I have the Bird armrest and really like it. I was in Connecticut last Christmas, gave Bird Automotive a call and met Sam Bird. Because of the price, I wanted to see it before I bought it. It is made very well, fits and looks like it was an original installation. It adds a drink holder which works well. Only comment is the drink holder is a little short so don't plan on putting any really tall cups in it. My interior is black so it was an easy match but even the texture of the leather is the same as the interior. He also makes a bicycle rack for the back of the vehicle that attaches underneath. Dave T 99 Carerra Doesn't the Bird arm rest still use some of the components of the base armrest, if so he still needs to use the hinge rivet kit. The armrest has a new hinge. The lid is the same but you install new components for the hinge. I'm not sure what you mean by the "hinge rivet kit". See the TSB for fixing the center console hinge...
