  1. Looks like the Porsche Preparation For Mobile Phone. "Telephone preparation for mobile telephones contains an antenna integrated in the radiator tank, various wires, a microphone, as well as a bracket for the mobile telephone holder. The hands-free microphone must be set to the type of mobile phone (see Technical Manual, Group 9, Part ID. 9157). The respective rigging set of the mobile telephone, which enables phone use with the hands-free unit, is connected to the 18-pin plug in accordance with the VDA standard (VDA = Verband Deutscher Automobilhersteller - Association of German Automobile Manufacturers). If the mobile telephone is not installed at the same time, the 18-pin plug and the antenna coupling remain under the center console. The holder contained in the set including mounting elements should be left if the vehicle for later installation of the telephone." To mount a cell phone there you need the second part of a kit to install the correct brand of cell phone.
  2. :welcome: Sorry, but if your car did not come from the factory with PCM the wiring is not there. All Porsches have custom wire harnesses built to order specs at the factory - so adding some options later can be a lot of work. PCM 1 is not a very good NAV system by today's standards - many folks replace them with much better (and easier to wire in) after market NAV systems.
  3. Yes, I know the economy is not doing well and... we have to pay for the TSBs we get from Porsche too. Been on the site for over 2 years and and you haven't noticed the Donate buttons? ;) Just click on any Donate button at the top left or very bottom of any page. Thanks!
  4. The Retail Price Search feature (for our Contributing Members) has been updated to reflect August 2008 pricing for the US (only). We try and update this on a monthly basis as the price lists come available to us. For August 2008 the price lists support: US: 221,668 parts Canada: 209,209 parts (December 2006) Thanks again to Contributing Member Porschelibrarian!
  5. Yes, in TSB 5/04 9160 CD Changer CDC-4 Installation Instructions -- dated Jun 25, 2004 All TSBs are available here to our Contributing Members.
  6. Seems you did not read my response pointing you to the FAQ (which you need to read). In that same FAQ is a link to the ONLY place I will respond to radio code requests. You need to go to that thread and post a reply there (not start a new thread - and do not email or PM me). You need to read this and follow the instructions... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST This thread is closed.
  7. Socket 2 is a 20 pin socket. IMHO it is safer to run the brown ground wire. "And would I have to do anything with the Black/Red +12 switched wire coming from the radio?" That would depend on your new amp. "And since I don't have rear speakers, the Red/Blue wire in Socket 1 is not used either?" Correct.
  8. The one that does not come from the radio. The one on socket 2 pin 2 (power). Socket 2 pin 1 is ground (brown).
  9. There are two Red/Blue wires. One goes to +12 volts unswitched The other goes to the Right Rear speaker input (from the radio) Well, there is a solid brown wire that is ground - if you are sure it is brown and not yellow.
  10. Yee-hah :D You and Orient are absolutely correct. Two pins on bottem of box. One grommet stayed in place, the other had fallen out. This morning I removed the entire box and immediately saw what was going on. I am intrigued as to why the PET didn't show/list the part. I wonder if anyone else has found porsche parts on their car that are not in PET....? The part IS in PET but it is only listed for the 997 series cars. Chances are they just forgot to refer the old part number in the 996 to the newer part number.
  11. Black/Red is +12 volts (switched) Do you mean Red/Blue? because I don't see a Blue/Red wire on the schematic.
  12. They wouldn't have anything to do with the fuels issue. But the loss of power you describe sounds like a collapsed or loose intercooler hose to me. Sudden loss of power sure sounds like an intake leak.
  13. Sirius SAT Radio - MOST Integration SUCCESSFUL - 997 DIY
  14. Sounds to me like one of your intercooler tubes is off.
  15. Please read the FAQ and follow the instructions there. Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  16. Have a look at the following TSBs: 1/00 6101 Noises In The Convertible Top 1a/00 6101 Noises In The Convertible Top 1b/00 6101 Noises In The Convertible Top
  17. I don't think the GT2 Aerokit side skirts will fit right on a GT3RS - because of the wide flares on the rear wheel wells of GT2 - but I have never tried it. It does not appear that Porsche sells the side skirts by themself - only the compete Turbo/GT2 Aerokit.
  18. Replacing the Ignition Switch
  19. Your fix is right here.

  21. That is within spec (per TSB 8/02 1360 Dual Mass Flywheel Check Procedure -- dated 12/13/02) All TSBs are available for online viewing by our Contributing Members.
  22. It is about 5 hours work without alignment. Even in the pricey SF Bay Area there are good shops that will do it for $800.
  23. Do you mean find one to buy or find it in the car?
  24. If it happened after jacking onthe engine then it is likely engine mounts.
