  1. The is only one rev limiter. These are DME reports of revs - they are called "stages". The engine rev limiter can do nothing for a missed downshift or a spin (backwards) where you fail to get the clutch in fast enough. Both can seriously damage an engine.
  2. Yes, more pics would be great. Thanks!
  3. If you use thread lock be sure and keep it away from the the brake fluid path. The fluid should not spray out - drip a little maybe. Change the lines then hook up your power bleeder and bleed per the order in the DIY.
  4. 1. LOL... normally brake don't need replacing - but the procedure is pretty simple. And, yes bleeding is required. 2. I do not know what Pelican sells - but I don't htink they are Porsche SS brake lines. Those are available from Porsche MotorSport for and arm and a leg. I personally do not like SS brake lines on street cars because they tend to unscrew themselves. On race cars they check the fitting every race (and if they don't tech inspection does). Most folks driving around on the street forget about them until they have a leak or worse. JMHO. 3. If you are only replacing the brake lines that is all after the PSM/ABS so I don't think you will need to use a PST2 or PIWIS to run the ABS pump.
  5. DIY Upgraded Ignition Switch/Lock Installation for 996/Boxster
  6. Sorry, don't know the prices. Try TRG (The Racers Group) or some other Race prep shop near you.
  7. Check on your registration papers or the bill of sale. The only other way is to get a Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche. They do this in the US but I do not know if they offer it in Europe. In the US it costs about $150 - and they send you a certificate that shows what the car sold for (MSRP) and all colors and options.
  8. I think you will still be fighting the ABS. If you change the brake balance you will need to change the ABS. I would try the racing version of the ABS first. As I recall the one that the race prep shops sell does not turn on ABS until two wheels lock (it only takes one wheel lock on the standard version).
  9. None of those is your interior color code. If it is a MY99 and it was a optional (not special order) interior color then the interior color is likely Boxster Red. Click on the link in my signature to se pictures of my MY99 Carrera in Artic Silver and Boxster Red interior.
  10. Did you buy the package that lets you go back to stock? If so you might try going back to stock. It is very strange to have random misfires - 2 on each bank.
  11. Open the rear lid and look for a connector that takes the wires from the right rear fender to the rear lid. Inspect the connector looking for corrosion or damaged wires.
  12. Any work done on the car (i.e. spark plugs)? Did the car get wet (very wet)?
  13. :welcome: Here are the (stock) spoiler connections. Match the wire colors on the plugs to the locations.
  14. Caliper bolts are 63 ftlb. As I recall you may have to remove the brake line retainer and the ground wire to move the caliper off the rotor.
  15. Most likely a faulty coil pack or spark plug on cylinder 1.
  16. Don't waste your money, not much you can do to the engine, other that supercharger upgrade about 10K, or buy a turbo 996 instead, other than that you are going to spend a ton of money for no more than 10 HP. Thanks for your reply and sharing your insights, Cesarfl. I'm not looking for maximum raw power here as I actually like the characteristics of the naturally aspirated engine for everyday driving. The upgrades I'm looking for make a noticeable difference at lower revs. If I end up with about 30 to 35 additional hp (incl. exhaust, air intake, plenum) and related torque gains, that's a 10 plus percent increase in total hp. I agree I seriously doubt you will get what these folks are advertising on a normally aspirated car. In some case folks lose midrange power and torque.
  17. Changing from non-OBC to OBC on any cluster is easy with a PST2 or PIWIS. If the car did not have OBC then you need to wire the 4th stalk or wire in a dash switch. On MY00 and older Boxsters when you turned OBC on in the cluster you immediately saw the outside temperature displayed. In MY01 and newer Boxsters when you turn on OBC in the cluster you see no change until the stalk (or switch) is added.
  18. Pretty much the same - just larger.
  19. Front Rear
  20. Yes, they should as long as the 996 is a coupe. if so part number pretty please! 996.803.033.90.N13 Left seat belt in Guards Red 996.803.034.90.N13 Right seat belt in Guards Red
  21. Yes, if you have both clusters see if they both act the same.
