  1. Yes, there is both switched and unswitched power on the telephone prep connector.
  2. MSRP on a new water pump is $307 - so $800 for labor seems way high to me. If you are talking about the HVAC fan MSRP is $464 so that is a little more in line with "normal charges".

  6. No, that is why I say solve a problems at a time. The idles problem is likely related to a dirty throttle body.
  7. Depends... corrosion and overtightening are their enemies.
  8. With any battery drain you need to isolate the circuit the problem is on. Usually you do this by measuring the current load with the engine off (you will need an amp meter for this). Normal is around 40-60 ma. If it is higher then pull fuses one at a time until the current drop significantly. That circuit is the the circuit with the drain - and you will then need to see what is on the circuit that causes the problem.
  9. You will need the Durametric software or a PIWIS tester to turn off the airbag light.
  10. Or... replace them with a single air horn (like many of us have).

  12. Solve one problem at a time. A car with that many miles likely needs new O2 sensors if they have not been changed. It is rather odd that both sides (P0130 and P0150) would go bad at the same time - so I would have a look at the wiring before changing the sensors. For the other codes start by cleaning the MAF and the throttle body.

Please let me know. Thanks! The throttle position sensor is on the throttle body. Well, you can check the throttle position sensor with an oscilloscope. You should get very short duration pulses every 400 microseconds (or so) at closed throttle and 100 microsecond pulses with wide open throttle. or you could hope the wiring is okay and try a new throttle position sensor.

  15. I believe that is a 5 digit code - if it is (and you give me the serial number) I'll give it a try. I'm still trying to figure out how to get the ser# without ripping it out of the dash, the digits must be 1-6 no zeros or 7 8 or 9. Well I managed to rip it without gouging anything too bad and the serial number is POCR-1R0420292 V40420292B Part no. 993.645.104.00 BTW the guy at swstereo.com was very nice and talked me through getting the unit out but did not have a code. Good guy. Ok, try 46672 - good luck! Unfortunately it would only take 4 digits now it is not asking for the CODE...aaarrggh..if it had a neck I'd wring it.     Motor oil

    I used fossil oil in my early cars mainly because that was all that was around when they were made. As long as you change your oil regularly fossil oils are fine.
