  2. I know the 997 has a sports exhaust that is vacuum controlled but I thought the GT3 sports exhaust was "always open". Sorry, I am looking at the parts list don't see any vacuum parts for a 997 GT3.

    Motor oil

How about 0W40 Mobil 1 for my Porsche 996 C4? Thank you Yes, the newer cars get synthetic oil because they are designed for them. This discussion is in the 1965-1989 911 section.
  4. PLEASE do not ask people to illegally copy copyrighted material for you. - This is against board rules.
  5. Do you have have the code for the new key? If so, then you should be ready to go.
  6. Membrane in the exhaust? Can you be more specific or do you have pictures?
  7. :welcome: 1. Under the dash to left of the steering wheel (assuming LHD car). 2. Those are not available as a separate item from Porsche. You might try a salvage yard. 3. Sorry, I think you would need to change out the cluster (very expensive) as Porsche sold USA and Canada specific clusters.
  8. Item 3 in your image is: 996.553.551.00.01C trim cover (black) -- US MSRP $16.09
  9. You can download the CDR-23 Owners Manual here
  10. On a 9x7 series car those functions are not handled by fuses and relays - they are managed by the Rear Control Unit. He will need to override the switch - or buy a fixed wing spoiler ;)
  11. These are likely garbage faults left over from the PDI process. I would erase/reset them and see if they come back.
  12. I answered this in your PM to me. The only thing that I am aware of is that the switch does not come in any kit (neither Porsche or Carnewal). You must buy the switch separately. The only switches available are the matte finish - there never was a gloss finish switch. 996.613.987.10.A05 Switch, sports exhaust system; installation location> right of radio 996.613.988.10.A05 Switch, sports exhaust system; installation location> left of radio The Carnewal package IS the Porsche package.
  13. Did you look in the DIY mods sections? In-dash Spoiler (Tail) Switch Mod
  14. What does the bumper (bottom) look like?
  15. Item 14 is the hood bump stops (1 per side). Try adjusting these first - I do not think I have ever seen them adjusted that bad so you may need to open the hood and take a pic of the corners.
  16. Are you serious? That is exactly what I drive and since my signal turn lever is broken I was considering the OBC hack! Best, Gus Contributing Member AnneH has done the 4th stalk retrofit on a 2001 Boxster - so I am sure it can be done.
  17. :welcome: Someone told you wrong - those are 996 Carrera wheels (optional) - they will fit fine.
  18. Please PM me the week of the WOCD and I will send you directions. Thanks.
  19. Thanks, yes that makes sense, but do you know if the turbos are oiled by the engine oil, or are they on a system of their own that requires oil to be added in a seperate location? Thanks, Yes, it is engine oil fed through pipes. Here is the 996TT Oil Circuit (item 14 is the turbos)
  20. Most dealers don't change the oil in the turbos. Some DIY'er do and some don't. If you change the oil in the turbos plan on an additional 1 hour just for them to cool down enough to touch.
