  1. :welcome: Please do a search here. Your problem has been covered many times here.
  2. Maybe for you guys, not here, I paid $380,000 for my 04 TT when I bought it, a good used 01/02 TT here still runs up to $200,000, I am loctaed in AUS. Loren thanks for the reply, would you have an indication on what parts would be required to do this? Thanks again for any replies. It would likely take me a week to figure out all the parts - as wross996TT said there are better NAV systems out there for half the cost and twice the capability. Many good installers can even make it look like original equipment with the proper face plates.
  3. :welcome: Post the engine and chassis numbers here and we will see what model year and engine group they are from - but the only 100% confirmation is a COA from Porsche.
  4. My advice is do not replace anything until you know what the fault code(s) are. Without fault codes you are just guessing.
  5. The PCM 2 is connected via fiber optic network (MOST) - PCM 1 is hard wired. I won't say it can't be done but it would taker a lot of work.
  6. Some folks call them "parking brakes". Adjusting parking brake
  7. Micro encapsulated just means they have thread locker on them. Minimum 95 AH battery, optional 110 AH battery. If you use a lot of electronics or tow I would go with the 110 AH.
  8. Without the fault codes - everything is a guess. What (exactly) are the fault code(s)?
  9. You can buy them from your dealer - they have always been an option. I think about US MSRP is $83 each (you just buy the mirror glass and install it).
  10. ??? I know of only one battery, the one up front just ahead of the windshield... Also, isn't there a caveat about the radio and it's code? MY04 Cayenne. Two batteries if no sound system and radio is MOST so no code.
  11. Yes, and most aftermarket batteries are just as good or better than the OEM. Just be sure and get the right size and amp hour rating (see your owners manual for the specs).
  12. Can you take a picture of the sticker and post it here - I don't recall seeing any numbers above the VIN.
  13. I don't think the wires are attached to the bumper. The only thing that attaches to the bumper is the outside temperature sensor and it just clips into place. What year 997?
  14. Vehicle-Ident-No. is your VIN. Copy it into the VIN decoder link I gave you in the previous message and it will give you what the codes mean.
  15. 999.073.227.09 self tapping screw -- US MSRP $0.33 each at your dealer
  16. Are you sure it is not a triple square?
  17. The fuel pump is in the tank and I think it will require you to recalibrate the fuel level sender.
  18. 1. I think you can find some OBD II readers that are not very good - so it is possible for them to "miss" codes. 3. Yes, the hall effect sensor and other DME readings determine faults.
  19. :welcome: Just click on the Registry link at the top of any page and you will have plenty of pictures...
  20. 1. Available - yes. Can all generic code readers read them - probably not. 2. Here is Porsche's brief description of Varicam "VarioCam, the adjustment of the intake camshafts at engine speeds of approx. 1,300 rpm* and 5,920 rpm, produces a major part of the engine output, the engine torque as well as the good exhaust values at idling speed. Engine speeds below 1,300 rpm produce a slight overlap in the valve stroke curves for the intake valves in relation to the exhaust valves. This particularly affects low proportions of hydrocarbons (HC proportions) in the exhaust gas before the catalytic converters. If the engine exceeds the 1,300 rpm mark *, the intake camshafts are adjusted by 12.5° (by 25° if measured a the crankshaft). Adjustment of the camshafts to produce a greater overlapping of the valve stroke curves for the intake and exhaust valves results in improved cylinder charging and thus an increase in engine torque. In the case of engine speeds above 5,920 rpm, the intake camshafts are returned to the basic control times (as for engine idling speed). If the intake valve closes later, additional amounts of intake air can be drawn in. This produces a recharging effect since the flow of air is not interrupted. This also results in improved charging of the cylinders and an increase in performance. * The value 1,300 rpm increases to 1,480 rpm with engine oil temperatures of approx. 133°C." 3. P1530 and P1531 means the actuator failed to move on command.
  21. You had two replies in your original thread - so I am closing this thread.
  22. GB cars get a special cluster - so I am unsure what can be changed.
  23. Did you see our Option Decoder here? Or, our VIN Decoder here? Order type 996840 is a LHD GT2. M9670 is the same as M96/70 and the M96/70 is the base engine for GT2 with several changes (as outlined in the 2001 Product Technik where it refers to the engine as M96/70S). Even the parts list engine listing show only the base engine code (M9670) - but it does show the different Hp for the GT2 engines. Hope this helps some...
