  1. You likely have two seperate problems. Please do as RFM suggested - brake lights are not tied to the interior lights. Interior lights (including the glove box) are driven from central locking/alarm system (and fused by C3). If the fuse was melted then perhaps you have a melted wire too? Is this a Cab? Is there a chance the control box under the left hand seat got wet?
  2. After re-reading the explanation - I think that the non-return valve is in the camshaft adjuster.
  3. Take the air cleaner off and the connecting tube. If there is a lot of oil in the intake then you likely have a bad AOS.
  4. I think they are talking about the pressure relief valve on the oil pump housing.
  5. Heating and cooling, tie downs on the boat over, improper lifting on the hoist at PPI. Since you are under warranty - let the dealer fix it.
  6. P2103 Throttle Adjusting Unit Actuator, Control Range - Above Limit Possible cause of fault - Open circuit - Short circuit to B+ in triggering wires - Short circuit to ground in triggering wires - Throttle adjusting unit faulty - DME control module faulty P0638 Throttle Adjusting Unit Spring Check Closing - Above Limit/Below Limit Possible cause of fault - Throttle adjusting unit faulty P2138 Throttle Position Sensor/Switch "D" / "E" Voltage Correlation Possible cause of fault - Short circuit to B+ wiring harness - Short circuit to ground wiring harness - Open circuit in wiring harness - Throttle adjusting unit (position sensor 1 or 2) faulty - DME control module faulty P2126 Throttle Position Sensor 2 - Signal Implausible Possible cause of fault - Throttle adjusting unit (potentiometer) faulty and fault entry for MAF sensor
  7. http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=50 Sorry Loren, I didn't mention my year either! I have a '99 C4, will this work? Thanks in advance. Coupe - yes.

  9. If it is only on one side then check the connector in the front fender first. Look for a broken connector, corroded wires, or pins pushed out of the connector.
  10. You will never find specs for the 19" wheels on a 996 series car because Porsche does not approve them. You could use the 997 specs but that would be a little misleading also because 997 has a stiffer chassis than 996. I think that would depend on where the PSS9's are set for ride height. If you are 30 mm below stock then use the X74 settings. Otherwise you will likely have to adjust to the ride height, and guess the settings that work best.
  11. Throttle valve is the throttle butterfly on egas cars (which your car is) - which is part of the throttle body. An intake leak could be a number of places like a bad air oil separator, a bad o-ring on the oil filler cap or bad oil filler tube. A loose or broken vacuum line/hose etc.
  12. P1126 Oxygen Sensing Adaptation, Lower Load Range, Bank 1 – Above Limit P1133 Oxygen Sensing Adaptation, Lower Load Range, Bank 2 – Above Limit Potential causes: – Incorrect signal from MAF sensor – Intake air system leaking – Fuel pressure too low – Volume supply of fuel pump too low – Fuel injectors fouled There is nothing wrong with your O2 sensors.
  13. P0507 Idle Air Control at Stop – Above Limit Potential causes: – Throttle valve is sticking – Leaks in intake air system
  14. If your car is a coupe - 996.612.070.51 rear harness for aerokit/wing deck lid -- US MSRP $164.88 Give the folks at Sunset Imports (Porsche Parts at Dealer Cost) for better pricing.
  15. Check the option list in your Maintenance Manual
  16. P0453 Tank Pressure Sensor – Above Limit Check wiring from pressure sensor to DME control module for short to B+. Repair wiring or replace sensor.
  17. Try 2528 or 2526 These codes are not working. Do you have any suggestions? Did you read the FAQ - I think not... Please read this and follow the instructions... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  18. If the RCA plugs are the white and red plug...I'd say yes (I'll check them again though)....But are you saying that if they aren't then the speakers will not work? How strange is that???? Thanks again, Okay, I went out and un-plugged and then plugged them back in, and still no sound. Maybe next I'll unplug the DC Changer and see if I get sound??? Thanks again for your time..... Loren, All is okay now, turns out that the problem is that the connection of the plugs on the AMP didn't 'connect'. I cleaned with electrical cleaner and that give me sound. Thanks for your time and help. C'ya, Glad you got it sorted - it had to be something simple.
  19. Still sounds like a bad AOS to me...
  20. If you look at the model year column (actually Remark) and then the option code column (actually Model). Those two items will determine the the right part.
