  1. You need to read the fault codes. It might also help to read the numerous posts on engine swaps.
  2. You have sent me a PM and posted this 3 times now. Perhaps you should READ THE FAQ like I asked you to. Please read this and follow the instructions... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  3. .. or a pebble caught between the splash shield and the brake rotor?
  4. I know we can post pics in registry but I just thought this would make it easier to view many cayennes on one post w/o having to hunt and click on different members. Sorry, just trying to see many cayenne's easily. :renntech: A little know feature of the Registry is the Search feature. If you choose Search Registry from the left hand navigation menu in the Registry it will give a search selection. In this case you would select (checkbox) Make - then choose Cayenne from the drop down list. Click on perform the search and you will get a list of all Cayennes in the Registry and there will be a picture icon next to the ones with pictures. Just another way to see pictures here.
  5. 23 BS is the relay location in the relay mounting block. Actually you could use any open (unused/blank) relay location.
  6. Please read this and follow the instructions... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  7. Please post your pictures in the Registry - thanks.
  8. :welcome: Changing oil on a Cayman is no different than changing oil on a Boxster or Carrera. Which have both been covered here in detail. Since you are new - have a look around there is quite a bit of information here.
  9. :welcome: Fault code 1218 Ignition circuit, passenger's side airbag Possible cause of fault - Upper limit exceeded (based on resistance of passenger side airbag and wiring between airbag trigger unit and passenger side airbag) - Lower limit not reached (based on resistance of passenger side airbag and wiring between airbag trigger unit and passenger side airbag) - Short circuit to positive - Short circuit to ground - Passenger side airbag faulty - Airbag trigger unit faulty
  10. How to Remove the Front Bumper
  11. S2 seems to be the most popular. Fairly inexpensive. In SCCA you can usually tell the best cars to race by looking at the previous years results.
  12. Fault code 1314 DME control module Diagnostic conditions - Internal KESSY control module function test Possible cause of fault - No signal/communication (no signal from DME control module on CAN drive) - Implausible signal (from DME control module on CAN drive) I think you will need a PIWIS to further diagnose this fault.
  13. Sunset Imports (Porsche Parts at Dealer Cost) sells the coolant tank for $182.11.
  14. :welcome: I think you wanted 987.631.033.01 & 987.631.034.01.
  15. You do not need to remove the engine to replace the coolant tank.
  16. Replacing the Coolant Reservoir on a MY99 996
  17. If the AOS is replaced it will take some running to clean the oil from everything.
  18. You need to look at the O2 voltages to determine that. Do you still get smoke? If so, then you haven't burned off the previous oil yet.
  19. :welcome: Check the part number on your coolant tank cap. If it ends in "00" replace it. If the leak continues it is likely a cracked coolant tank. A fairly common problem and Porsche has revised the tank at least six times. The is a full DIY in the 996 DIY - Common Fixes and Repairs section.
  20. I would NOT clean the O2 sensors with anything. Almost all cleaning solvents will damage the O2 sensors. Use the heat of the exhaust - in most cases it will burn off.
  21. Well now I have seen one. Are those carbon rotors? Good God man. :notworthy: Porsche RS Spyder "Two-circuit hydraulic braking system, six piston aluminum monobloc brake calipers, front and rear ventilated carbon (ceramic) brake discs, F: 380 mm diameter R: 355 mm diameter" Last time I checked PCCB (the closest street version) was an $11,000 option and replacement rotors are about $4000 per axle pair ($8000 for all four).
  22. How about the Porsche RS Spyder? No slots or cross-drilling.
  23. I don't think Porsche has ever stated that cross-drilled rotors improve brake "performance".
