  1. I live in the middle of west Texas and there isn't any nearby Porache dealers. Does anyone know where I can buy one online? Been googling but can't find one... Cal or email Sunset Imports (Porsche Parts at Dealer Cost) - I am sure they will have it for you - at a discount.
  2. Coolant tank, hoses (especially on a 10 year old car), and water pump are all known problem areas. You will need to let it cool down and then try to find the leak source.
  3. P0446 EVAP Canister Shutoff Valve (Function) - Below Lower Limit
  4. You can buy the short shifter aliment tool from any Porsche dealer for a few dollars. As I recall it is teal/green in color. Just tell them it is for a Porsche Short Shifter.
  5. What is it doing that makes you think it is out of alignment?
  6. There is a bleed valve on top of the coolant tank. Latch it in the open position for a few days being sure to top up the tank daily. When the level stops going down you can close the valve. BTW... it does not hurt to drive with the valve in bleed position - Cup Car racers do it all the time.
  7. How do you fill the turbos "case" back with the new oil? Or is the oil distributed there once you fill it up from the "main" oil fill resevoir up top? Thanks, GV I wouldn't worry about it - it will get there in a few seconds.
  8. :welcome: You can try PMing me the VIN and I'll try to do a look up. See if you can get the motor serial number too.
  9. Please read this and follow the instructions... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  10. If you replace the DME with a new or used DME it will need to be reprogrammed. You will need your IPAS (security codes) and it is best to copy some information from the old DME first. Program the engine profile, immobilizer, radio (if needed), and certain other options depending on the model year. Find someone that knows how to do this for your car.
  11. Contributing Members are allowed 4MB per post - with unlimited global totals. So, other than a per post limit - there is no limit for Contributing Members.
  12. 996.343.531.19 is the correct spring for a MY02- RoW M030 Coupe. 996.343.531.11 is for MY01 and older. Yes, you can buy the X74 parts separately - but the cost would likely be higher. For X74 the springs, shocks, upper support, and bump stop all change.
  13. These are the correct keys. Still you might have to pull pretty hard to remove the radio.
  14. 1. Have you battery tested - both specific gravity of each cell and load testing. 2. If the battery is good suspect the ignition switch.
  15. :welcome: Please state your location - and perhaps someone here with a PST2 or PIWIS can check it for you.
  16. I usually just push it back and get it with a stubby phillips.
  17. Whoa! Time out here! AV996TT - your profile says 2001 996TT. The 996TT does not have an intermediate shaft failures that I am aware of. The engine design is much different than that used in the 986 and 996 normally aspirated engines (M96 engines).
  18. Only a Porsche dealer can look up vehicle history - for privacy reasons.
  19. All 996 Turbos are DME 7.8. If choose to reprogram it should not be a problem - but you will need your IPAS codes to do that.
