  1. If you set them in the PST2 config page at the startup screen then they are saved. According to Porsche and Bosch - yes. Just like you would any other hard drive - make an image of the drive. I use a product called Acronis True Image Home. I take the drive out and put it in an external USB drive caddy and then use Acronis to back it up to (file) on another machine.
  2. You won't really know until you try it. Make sure the seal is tight or you will throw a CEL. I am not a fan of the cold air intakes - no HP, and only a little sound - mostly problems and CELs. IMHO you are better off with a BMC air filter (the same one Porsche uses on their race cars) if you want a "better sound".
  3. I don't think it is alarm related but you can reset the alarm by locking the door with the mechanical key and then unlocking it with the mechanical key.
  4. Rob do you mean in your 996 - cause you posted in the 997-1 section?
  5. Sorry, my bad - I've corrected the post above. You may end up needing a PST2 or PIWIS to further test the door lock servos etc.
  6. The gas door lock solenoid will not have any affect on the alarm/immobilizer control box. It simply assumes that the latch is either forward or withdrawn. Fault code 46 Central locking synchronization These faults are stored in the memory if at least one safe contact does not reach the safe position after two synchronization actuations towards safe. Fault code 60 Central locking limit position locked not reached This fault is stored in the following cases: Switch for central locking is faulty Open circuit in the supply lead to plug II pin 8 (terminal 30) Short circuit to voltage/ground or open circuit in the supply lead to plug II pin 9 Short circuit to voltage/ground or open circuit in plug I pin 5 Short circuit to voltage/ground or open circuit in plug I pin 28 Short circuit to voltage/ground or open circuit in plug I pin 29 Door lock (driver's side / passenger's side) is faulty
  7. I think that the emergency release cable maybe on the other side of the car for UK (PHD) cars.
  8. Loren, Your the admin - and I realize you have your reasons and I respect that. Let me be clear though, we don't have a partnership with them. I did offer to help them out with some interior upgrades for a rebuild project they are planning on doing and it is simply my way of thanking Karl. My point is, we have no affiliations with Fiberwerks nor do we have any financial interests in "advertising" for them. Like Jerry, I'm a customer of Fiberwerks and I sincerely believe they have something of value to offer to the Porsche community. Loren, they are more than just a company, they are good people that do honest work, and their products are stellar. My hope is that others will get a chance to appreciate some of Karl's creations and I would vouch on his behalf any day. But just to set the record straight, they are not my company's partner(s). Thanks. Ok, just don't overdo it. You are welcome to recommend folks here -- but you also sell something and this board has a strict policy about no commercial posting.
  9. What do you hope to gain from the EVOMS Cold Air Intake?
  10. trieullionaire Please limit the "advertising" of your companies partners.
  11. Obviously you did not rear the FAQ. Please read this and follow the instructions... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  12. Hello Loren. Do you have the rest of that graphic that you put up? My other question; Do you know where I can get the tool that is displayed in the picture? I bought my Porsche secondhand and it did not come with the tool or Owners Manual. Thank you! Brian There are new style and old style hardtop latches. We will need your model year and if it is the range when they converted you could have either. In that case it would be best to give us a photo of what you have.
  13. Yes, you do not need to remove the front tires. You may need to turn them thought to get teh screw behind the sidemarker lights.
  14. I can post a diagram if you can tell me the model year of your Cayenne. I have a 2005 CTT. Thanks for the help. I'll send you an PM for the door panel.
  15. Maybe a pinched wire or poor connection. Glad to hear it is fixed.
  16. I ran the VIN and the option list says Tiptronic not manual as the ad says. Be very careful out there folks...
  17. The seller needs to post the VIN - you can't run any checks on the car without the VIN.
  18. I can post a diagram if you can tell me the model year of your Cayenne.
  19. Try 9660 or 9658 If you have not already read this please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  20. :welcome: Please do a Search - chances are you have a leak in the plastic coolant tubes that run across the top of the engine.
  21. If the door panel was removed then they could have disconnected or pinched the airbag wiring connection. Be sure to keep the key OUT of the ignition when checking the door panel. The key needs only to be in the ignition (car off) to activate the airbag circuit. To be really careful disconnect the battery and wait for at least 5 minutes before working on the door panel/airbag.
  22. Try 6721 or 6719 If you have not already read this please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST Thanks for this. I downloaded a car code decoder from a torrent site and it gives the same result. I have gone up and down by two as suggested all the way to 6735 and all they way down to 6711 with no luck. It's a painful process, all this waiting.... Does it look like a dealer visit is called for? Yes, or pay Becker the $30... sorry.
  23. Based on RFM's excellent recommendation we are suggesting that folks that do their own oil changes upgrade their oil drain plug to a stainless steel version of the drain plug. The original version is aluminum and strips very easily so this stainless steel version should eliminate that from happening. 900.219.015.00 SS Drain Plug -- US MSRP $21.40 -- Sunset Imports price $12.80.
