  1. If you have misfires then you have fault codes even if they are pending. What tool is being used to read the fault code(s). What is the car's history for spark plugs and coils? How many miles?
  2. Not that I am aware of unless the previous owner(s) supplies it.
  3. Try 6595 or 6593 If you have not already read this please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  4. Read the discussions here about engine swaps. Todd has covered these things before.
  5. Sounds like a bad or corroded socket to me.
  6. Is this a 997-1 or 997-2 (MY09)? I have not seen any service manual sections for the 997-2 (MY09) cars yet. So unless a tech here has been to training on the new cars I can not help.
  7. RFM is correct you can reprogram the car but the car will not pass any US smog test. My advice - Only, do this if you plan on a making a race car or eventually changing it back.
  8. Thanks. Any idea of the part number for the 2 button version UK/Euro frequencies please? Blank or order by VIN (the part numbers are different)? Blank remote only please as I can transfer the blade from my broken unit. Have been given a price of 200 GBP approx for full key by VIN. Thanks for any assistance. For a blank key with: I5D1 Carrier frequency 433.92 MHz I4F2 porsche entry + drive I4K3 Central-locking system with key remote, interior operation and "Safe" mode 955.637.244.24.01C Blank key in satin black -- US MSRP $128.25 Just had a thought - my car doesn't have 4F2 option. If I order this key, is it wrong? I have the other 2 options. All the blank keys with I5D1 and I4K3 also have I4F2.
  9. Did you try Performance Products? As I recall they had them a few years ago.
  10. Having this same issue with drives side door rattle. Will the dealer take care of this out of warranty even if the TSB was 2000? On an 8 year old car - not likely.
  11. See the 996 change instruction - the process is the same except the plugs are easier to get to. Spark Plug Change Instructions
  12. That is what the service manual says -- and what I used on my own car and others.
  13. Hi Loren, I hear it strong below the car, almost below where I seat, that happens only when I use the clutch, like something metallic that needs grease. The clutch system is hydraulic - so there is nothing but fluid below where you sit. Do a search here for oiling or lubricating the clutch spring on the clutch pedal.
  14. Yes, if the above option match (and it seems they do).
  15. No, for your model year (2000 and newer) you need 986.618.199.00.
  16. Yes, you can use the same process. I would not use compressed air - you do not need much air pressure - less than 20 PSI.
  17. :welcome: 17 ftlb.
  18. Is the noise down by your foot - or is it back by the engine?
  19. You are welcome - and my name is Loren.
  20. Try 4767 or 4765 Did you read the FAQ?
  21. I like the Torin low profile jack. I have the jack stands and they are excellent also. http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/sto...13355_200313355
  22. It has been covered here before and is not very difficult. You will need a plug for the hole - I think BumpePlugs.com carries them. You remove the panel under the rear window and then remove the wiper motor, etc.
  23. For a blank key with: I5D1 Carrier frequency 433.92 MHz I4F2 porsche entry + drive I4K3 Central-locking system with key remote, interior operation and "Safe" mode 955.637.244.24.01C Blank key in satin black -- US MSRP $128.25 Thanks Loren. How do I verify that is the correct frequency? Also do they all support entry+drive as I don't have that option so don't need a key supporting it? Dan Check your cars options list. I5D1 = Carrier frequency 433.92 MHz I5D2 = Carrier frequency 315 MHz I5D3 = Carrier frequency 315 MHz with reduced transmission power for Japan
  24. Not unless you are changing the whole cluster. In that case the proper procedure is to read out the setting from the old cluster. Replace the cluster - then program the old settings back into the new cluster.
  25. P1502 Throttle Jacking Unit, Spring Test – Above Limit Clean the connectors, check the wiring for damage - clear the code and see if it comes back. If it does, you will likely need a new throttle jacking unit. Thanks for the quick reply, I have seen other posts where this problem manifested itself solely due to disconnecting the battery or by having the battery become low. I have also read of several other's replacing the e-throttle assembly itself without success. Hopefully someone can chime in with an actual successful repair. Please do as I suggested.
