  1. This has been covered here before - you will need a system that can pick up signals from the cars CAN network.
  2. Pretty much has to be the stalk, the clutch switch (which would also not let you start the car), or the cluster. Someone with a PST2 or PIWIS tester can run diagnostics to make sure where the problem lies.
  3. Try 4920 or 4918 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  4. For 2005 C2 you need: Front: 997.351.939.03 Pads and mounting parts 997.612.756.00 and 997.612.759.00. Rear: 986.352.939.10 Pads and mounting parts 996.612.365.00 (2 each)
  5. On a 997 it takes less than 15 minutes to remove the mufflers (same as a 996). I would take them off.
  6. Try 1474 or 1472 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  7. Hi cleaned the throttle body (it wasn't that dirty anyway). No change I'm afraid. Any other ideas? the dealer checked the MAF sensor and said it was working fine. Thanks Darrin Smith Idle valve. Refer to my last post Hi The car idles perfectly. However I will give it a go anyway. Where is the valve located? Do you just use throttle body cleaner? Thanks DS http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=6828
  8. Covered here many times - Search for OBC
  9. Cars with AC have the front sensor. It is used by the AC system to calculate the ambient temperature. On the OBC it just displays that outside air temperature.
  10. Try 8898 or 8896 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  11. P1123 is likely a bad MAF or air purge valve or air leak problem. Please do a search P1123 has been covered here many many many times. Loren -thank you for the reply .I have done a search and read /tried all the obvious things .What has me stumped is that it is really intermittent .For example the car will go 200 miles and set off P 1123 and at other times 75 miles or less .Right now I am north of 225 miles and the tra value is -.17 -I believe it trips at +/- .32 .My logic was a flaky coil could possibly set it off.Maybe it's a dumb question but it kinda seemed logical . Dave A bad coil pack would cause a fault on that one specific cylinder (i.e P0304 - misfire cylinder 4). Have you tried a new MAF or cleaning the one you have? Have you looked for air leaks? Any other fault codes? Cleaned MAF twice-couldn't find any air leaks-tried oil cap off test from shop manual and was ok .No other fault codes . What is your air mass flow reading at idle and no-load 2500RPM? 15.50 and 47.50 Well, it would appear your MAF is functioning within limits. Unless you have a charcoal canister purge valve problem you have an air leak.
  12. :welcome: Um... the number one cause of fault 70 (P0740) is low ATF fluid. He should check the fill (at the proper temperature), top up as needed - reset the code and see if it comes back. Could be that simple.

  16. I suggest: 1. Have your battery tested at a car parts store. 2. If it is okay, then measure the load (amps) when the car is off - should be around 40-60 ma). If it is more pull fuses one at a time until the drain goes away. When the fuse you pull brings the load back down to 40-60 ma then you have found the circuit with the problem. Once you've done that report back here what fuse and we'll tell you what is on the circuit and suggest what to look for.
  17. I want to replace it. My rear carpet is faded and has some issing fibers that are pretty noticeable. Maybe the previous owner was moving stuff in it. :( I have a replacement i got from the dismantler but i have no clue how remove the old one. I would talk to a local upholstery shop - they can tell you about glue removal etc.
  18. Nope, not even covered in the service manual. Do you want to remove it for racing or replace it?
  19. Just to make sure...I just need to buy a new 3-button fob / transmitter and then I can use my key blade and transponder pill. Do I still have to take it to the dealer for programming? OR does the key work with the transponder pill from my original key? Thanks in advance!!!! If you transfer the transponder pill and key blade you should be fine.
  20. To be safe - Yes. Also, remove the key from the ignition and wait at least 5 minutes after disconnecting the battery.
  21. Look for cracked coils or bad corrosion. They can be tested as follows: Check the resistance across pins 1 and 15 (black wire and green wire w/stripe -- not brown). Resistance should be 0.3 to 0.7 ohms at 20 degrees C. If they all look badly corroded I would replace them all. But if most look and test good - I would just replace any that test bad.
  22. Halogen is standard - Litronic (or MY02 and newer BiXenon) are optional on Carrera.
  23. Folks - please be careful with these "free" manuals they are many many supplemental updates behind.
  24. Only US/Canada Boxster have "phone prep" standard - others would need to have one of the phone options (like M618).
