  1. Try 0400 or 0398 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST Hi Loren, It didn't take either 0400 or 0398. Can you give new codes? Thanks, PLEASE read the FAQ.

  3. Yes, they should sell you just the plastic part. About $40 MSRP as I recall. Make sure you get the right one for your car because they are different. Hey Loren - I cleaned up the brake fluid really good, and let the car sit Sunday and Monday. No leaks. I took it out for a drive (carefully) and did some hard braking. The brakes work great. And no leaks or drips, or even a hint of fluid leaking. The only thing I can think of is this: When the reservoir was pressured up by the power bleeder, I hit or twisted the reservoir, hard enough for some fluid to squirt out by the gaskets for a moment. Is this possible? Does the reservoir just sit in the gaskets, it's not bolted or screwed on? Thanks, Kevin That is correct - it is not bolted on just the gaskets. I would just check it daily for a week or two and if the fluid level stays up and there are no leaks - then chances are you just momentarily broke the seal.
  4. PCM is Porsche Communications Management (Navigation) - it has nothing to do with emissions and O2 sensors. So, you must mean DME? If this a US car you can not remove the cats or one set of O2 sensors - the US DME programming won't allow the car to run with the fault(s). You would need to re-program the DME and then the car would never pass any US smog test (that I am aware of).
  5. Very likely you are right. It is not too hard to change but don't wait long - sometime when they break they can take out the alternator and more...

  8. :welcome: I do not realistically see any way to do that. You would need many new electronics (controls and network controllers) as well as mechanical hardware.
  9. Yes, but that is usually described as a "rumble" not a "rattle". Check for loose suspension parts first.
  10. Try 9928 or 9926 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  11. Yes, DO NOT RUN THE CAR WITH THE BATTERY DISCONNECTED. It will damage things.
  12. The latest coil pack for your car is: 997.602.107.00 What are all the current fault codes? Loren - Do you think the cause of the second blown coil is because I replaced the original with the wrong model? No, the old ones worked pretty much as well as the new ones - there should be no issues mixing them. Look for a bad plug or a bad electrical connection on the coil connecting boot.
  13. It should clear itself when you clear the fault cause. Check the wiring harness.
  14. :welcome: 1. Find the middle of the lid. 2. Position the Targa logo with tile dimensions A and B = 98.4 mm and C = 29 ±1 mm on the rear lid and affix. Yes, it is double sided tape.
  15. :welcome: Start by check the swaybar and all the strut upper mounts for tightness.
  16. I am wondering if anyone has used four ramps to raise the car while maintaing it level for an oil change. 4 ramps or 4 jack stands - you really only need to raise the car a few inches for an oil change.
  17. I already answered this in your first post here. So, I am closing this duplicate.
  18. :welcome: Try having a 2nd person press and pull as you operate the release mechanism.
  19. You will want a Boxster S 6 speed - a 996 transmission will have the pinion gear on the wrong side (and you will have 6 gears in reverse and 1 forward). The Boxster engine/transmission is turned 180 degrees from what it is in a Carrera.
  20. Do you know where the version changes are detailed? 997.101.212.01 is the latest seal and should not leak when installed properly.
  21. Try 9589 or 9587 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  22. Ah... my bad, there is a comfort close connection from the immobilizer to the windows (and top) circuits. That could be disabling the windows. Looks like getting your immobilizer sorted should straighten things out.
  23. P0115 Engine Temperature Sensor - Signal Implausible Potential causes: - Wiring. - Temperature sensor. - DME control module Check the temperature sender (do a search here covered several times before). They have a history of falling off their mount or just plain going bad. Usually a pretty easy fix.
