  1. I need your radio serial number. Please read this and follow the instructions... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  2. It would probably be helpful if you would fill in your Location in your profile. No one know where you are to recommend a shop.
  3. Is that a Boxster manual? The cats on a 996 are near the rear bumper.
  4. Try 0288 or 0286 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  5. Hmmm.... let me think about that one.
  6. Passenger side. In a Carrera the transmission is closest to the center of the car and engine is rear most. Might I ask what is not working just the backup lights or the display in the dash (I assume reverse gear works).
  7. yes thats the one. What would be the best way to order it? and what is it called Thanks Loren. 997.505.525.00.01C Left cover (in satin black) -- US MSRP $12.19 997.505.526.00.01C Right cover (in satin black) -- US MSRP $12.19 We recommend Sunset Imports - Porsche Parts at Dealer Cost. There is a link at the top center of any page.
  8. I think this pic is old Tip but the new one should be very similar. Same Tip C2 or C4.
  9. Please tell us the model and year of your car?
  10. Yes, PLEASE read the FAQ.
  11. The back light switch is part of the main switch sector on the side of the transmission.
  12. It is original porsche There is a Porsche TSB which is a 12 page set of instructions on installing the trailer hitch. It is a little complicated (hence the 12 pages). Contributing Members here have access to all the TSBs.
  13. Is the used hitch a Porsche part or another manufacturer?
  14. Please do a Search here - it is the same for any 996 series car. This has been covered many times before.
  15. Hmmmm I had my CDR-23 out just yesterday, and I'm pretty sure I saw a 10A car fuse at the back. any tips on how to remove the radio, thx yellowlemon! Please do a Search here - this has been covered many times before.
  16. Try 5488 or 5486 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  17. I sent you a PM.
  18. Try 0439 or 0437 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  19. Model and year of your car please? What is your current suspension?
  20. I have Sport Designs on my MY99 996. I got them new as exchange for my old wheels through wheelenhancement.com. To match the Mk1 GT3 specs the fronts need to 8.0" wide and the rears 10" wide. You can see pics of them on my car in my Registry images (link below)
  21. You can get the stainless steel underbody protection kit from Porsche. It is in their Tequipment catalog.
  22. As I recall they did not offer PSM on the Boxster until MY2001. Looks like you got TC (Traction Control). Do you have a button on your dash that says "TC"?
  23. :welcome: That was actually part of PSM and an "electronic/hydraulic" form of LSD. Not a real LSD (which is mechanical) PSM's electronic/hydraulic version brakes the slipping wheel. In PSM descriptions (not the option list) is is more accurately called ABD - Automatic Brake Differential - A traction control program which works in conjunction with the new ABS/5 brake system. The ABD is active up to 45 mph. The system applies brake pressure to the rear wheel with the least amount of traction.
  24. One other question, does the 2009 Turbo produce a higher horse power over the 2008? If so do you know by how much? This is all they say (about the turbos) in the model year changes book.
