  1. You need to put the Durametric software, a PST2 or PIWIS tester on the car and test the alarm system.
  2. Your (or they) need to read the fault code(s) AND pending faults. If you still have codes (even pending) you will not pass smog.
  3. The MAF has little to nothing to do with idle - it measures air flow as you open the throttle. You likely need to clean the throttle body. Do a search here as this has been covered many times.
  4. Hmmm If I get a remote control head, do I need to know the ID for that remote control head to get it programmed? By that I mean can I just bring in the remote control head to my dealer and they can program it to my car no problem. I do have one working remote control key...the second will act as the spare. Yes, you need the unique ID to program a new key.
  5. 54 Radio receiver defective 60 Central locking limit position. Locked not reached Check fuse D8 and check the back of the radio for another fuse. If both are good - it could be either the amp or the radio.
  6. Try 4948 or 4946 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  7. It is rare for the engine purge fan to come on at all. Mine only comes on after I come off the track while I am idling during cool down. "Switch-on conditions for engine compartment fan (this fan pulls air into the engine compartment) The engine compartment fan is switched on when the engine compartment temperature is > 176 degrees F or the coolant temperature is > 216 degrees F. After-running of engine compartment fan If the ignition is switched off and the engine compartment temperature is more than 140 degrees F, the DME control module remains in readiness for another 20 minutes. During this time, the engine compartment temperature is retrieved every 10 seconds. If the engine compartment temperature is > 185 degrees F , the engine compartment fan is switched on for 20 seconds. If the engine compartment temperature is still > 185 degrees F after this time, the fan remains on for a further 30 seconds."
  8. All MY2000 have egas - as does the MY99 C4. The DME would need to change to DME 7.8.x.
  9. Check the laws in your country. In some countries you have legal recourse if someone does not disclose serious damage or defects in a vehicle.
  10. :welcome: MY01 Boxster BN/BU - Ground
  11. Try 8987 or 8985 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  12. No. Yes, normal tools with the proper extensions will work fine. See the DIY here on this site. Hard to say, could have been a leaking oil filler tube. That is not normal - there is a leak somewhere or someone didn't clean up after fixing a leak.
  13. Please give our Search a try! Replacing the Gas/Fuel Door Actuator
  14. Major Maintenance US (up to MY02)
  15. Try 5078 or 5076 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST

  17. Could be as simple as a loose or disconnected hose.
  18. Really? It worked for me. Our link takes you directly to Porsche's website with this information.
  19. Did you see the Links link at the top right of the page? Porsche Documentation
  20. many thanks loren but in my european boxster the part inside dont have the 01c ath the end dont know why i will check tommorow at my dealer 01C is the color code for satin black (which is the only color it came in for that model year).
  21. 996.552.335.00.01C is correct.
  22. Only way (IMHO) that you can tell where an oil leak is coming from is to thoroughly clean the area and then run the car until you see the start point of the leak. Sometimes they surprise you with their actual location.
  23. I was hoping to get a parts list table with the difference - but if there is no option code for it then it may only be the control unit (and programming). I'll try to have a look at the schematics too.
