  1. This fault code should be verified with a PIWIS tester. Both are accessible through the drain pan. Oil pressure sensor is about a $50 item and I don't see individual valve pricing so you might have to buy the whole block (about $1014). So if you are lucky it's the switch, anew pan gasket and new ATF fluid.
  2. That is a Durametric fault printout. Let's say the description is right but the fault code is not. In that case... Fault code P0840 Oil pressure switch 1, transmission [Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor/Switch IAI Circuit] Possible causes of fault - Mechanical fault, oil pressure switch 1 signal stays 'ON' for more than one second. The Tiptronic control module carried out an electrical check on the electrical wires and oil pressure switch 1 and found them to be OK. Oil pressure switch 1 jams/sticks mechanically. - Mechanical fault, oil pressure switch 1 signal stays 'ON' for more than one second. The Tiptronic control module carried out an electrical check on the electrical wires and oil pressure switch 1 and found them to be OK. The shift solenoid valve C1 (modulation pressure) jams/sticks mechanically. One of those two needs to be replaced.
  3. P1124 Oxygen Sensing Adaptation Area 1 (Cylinders 1 - 3) - Rich Threshold P1126 Oxygen Sensing Adaptation Area 1 (Cylinders 4 - 6) - Rich Threshold Fault area - Intake air system leaking. - Fuel pressure too low. - Volume supply of fuel pump too low. - Fuel injectors fouled. This says your O2 sensors think that you are getting too much air - hence they are telling the DME in make the mixture richer. But the DME says it can not make it any richer - it is already at the max. So either you have an air leak or the MAF is giving false readings. Check the hoses and vacuum tubes on the engine and then get the MAF readings at idle and 2500 RPM (no load). If the MAF readings are normal then you still have air leak - if they are not then you likely have a bad MAF.

  5. What was the diagnostic software? PIWIS? PST2" Durametric?
  6. You should read some of the posts about adding a third party NAV system. Chances are you will need the reverse signal which is under the drivers seat (for NAV). CDR-220 can only help with radio, amp, speakers (depending on your car's options.) Here is the MY02 CDR-220 wiring layout.
  7. I am asking what model year your car is? (because I don't have fault codes for model year 2009 yet).
  8. No, that would not make sense - but then we occasionally see a car with mismatched VIN and build dates. I've seen two like this and both were made in 2003 and 2004.
  9. No, just the opposite - if the build date on the door is say 8/04 then the model is a MY05. If the build date on the door is 6/04 then it is most likely a MY04. I own a MY99 Carrera - my door sticker says 5/99. In July of 1999 Porsche started building MY2000 cars.
  10. Try 2854 or 2852 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  11. Build date is very often in the year before the model year. Porsche starts building the next model year in July each year. So production of MY2010 will begin next month. Look on the drivers door for Porsche sticker - in the top right corner of the sticker is your build date (not necessarily your model year).
  12. Um... item 5 is 996.537.531.06 Yes, the inner door panel, inside of the mirror control, and window guide rail (item 6) (as I recall) - but I don't think the outside mirror need to come off.
  13. CDR-220 gets removed when installing a NAV system. Can you tell us model and year - and what NAV you are trying to install?
  14. From the service manual on wheel alignment: "The following values relate to the empty weight, i.e. full fuel tank, vehicle with spare wheel/collapsible wheel and tools, but without driver and without additional weights!" There is no difference between aligning a LHD car and a RHD car. Porsche does not have any specs for 3rd party suspension parts - the owner is on their own on this.
  15. :welcome: Yes, that is normal. See the DIY on cleaning the front radiators (yearly). Also, check your coolant tank cap for leaks.

  17. P0700 CE Light on Due to Transmission Fault - (Signal Implausible) Possible fault cause - Fault memory entry in Tiptronic control module due to transmission fault 17225 is not a valid Porsche fault - could you check the fault code again.
  18. Try 9071 or 9069 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  19. Sounds like the top strut mount to me - if it is loose or worn that is the noise you get.
  20. Aron, Hopefully more diagnostic information……..spoiler warning light on all the time, radio display (and sound) cutting out and coming back on for a second then cutting out again continually. When I first turn the key to the on position, the speedo and tach needles bounce up and down for a few seconds and stop. Dash digital back light glowing. UPDATE…….installed new ignition switch………NO change to any of the electrical gremlins. Pulled the dash out and checked the connections……..nothing loose, all looks in tact. Any other ideas what could be causing these anomalies? Phil Did you check the (multiple) chassis grounds under the dash? Loren, No did not check the ground connections (should have when I had the dash out). I believe there were two. Will do that next and see what effect that has. Thanks, Phil Marked with red arrows - I have seen a couple of these with corrosion before.
  21. All the pics you should need are here. This was a fuel door solenoid replacement - but the EVAP canister has to come out to do that. And, you can see the valve in the pics. (Thanks to Chuck Jones for taking the pics for me).
  22. Yes, it will work as long as it is from a "like" transmission car (i.e. Tiptronic to Tiptronic, manual to manual).
