  1. You have tried switching the bulbs from one side to the other to see if the problem follows the bulb - right?
  2. Check the connector inside the fender. I have seen the wire connectors push out and broken connectors.
  3. Those are on the plenum chamber (next to the battery).
  4. Sorry, it's not that simple - even the same symptom can be different problems - so on one car it may be low fluid level and a bad valve on another.
  5. 1. Remove battery cover. 2. Remove cover on right for plenum chamber. 3. Open the lock 1 on the filter housing. 4. Remove the particle filter upwards and to the side 2 out of the housing guide. Installation is the reverse.
  6. Porsche did not start making them available in PDF until 2003 or 2004. Fairly inexpensive - WKD 986 021 99 US MSRP $39.85
  7. Should be 24 and 34 ftlb. respectively.
  8. :welcome: Not likely coolant - those are body cavity drains. Should be just dirty rain water.
  9. There is a solenoid that locks the levers so that they can be opened when the car is locked (or moving). Either that solenoid has failed, the wires have been damaged or there is a central locking problem.
  10. There were a number of door lock changes in the MY97 and MY98 cars. The other problem is that the US uses 315 MHz and RoW uses 433 MHz.
  11. :welcome: P0021 Adjustment of Inlet Camshaft in relation to Crankshaft, Bank 2 – Signal Implausible Possible cause of fault - Dirt in oil circuit - Sealing strips on inlet camshaft adjuster faulty - Oil pressure too low - Mechanical fault in inlet camshaft adjuster - Magnetic hydraulic valve faulty Check oil pressure, oil pump, pressure-regulating valve and oil type. Check magnetic hydraulic valve for leaks, check sealing strips on camshaft adjuster and camshaft adjuster itself for damage and check camshaft adjustment oil circuit for leaks and blockage.
  12. If you can jump start the car then the alarm/drive is not likely the problem. If the car continues to run (even if you wiggle the ignition switch) then you can likely rule it out too. Now you are down to a bad battery, clutch microswitch, and bad ground /wiring connections at and near the starter.
  13. There are very good diagnostics for the Tiptronic transmissions used on 9x6 series Porsches. The Tiptronic has it's own control unit separate from the engine ECU. A 5 minute test with a PST2 or PIWIS tester will tell you what if anything is wrong with the Tiptronic transmission. It will tell you if there is (or has been) a stuck valve or even if the fluid level is low. Any other diagnosis is just guess work.
  14. You need to find a shop wiht a PST2 or PIWIS tester and have them run the Tiptronics diagnostic program and check for faults.
  15. Since you have a Cab is there any chance the alarm/central locking unit under the drivers seat got wet? Have you felt the carpet for moisture? Chances are you could save a lot of time igf you can find someone with the Durametric software, a PST2 or PIWIS tester and have them run a diagnostic.
  16. No mesh from the factory - what you see is normal.
  17. Check the switch solenoid in the engine compartment and the two way valve in the same line.
  18. If you do not feel comfortable doing this then find a reputable Porsche shop. Ask here (please tell us where you are located) and your local Porsche club for good Porsche shop recommendations.
  19. You need to get the fault codes read - any existing AND pending faults. Then report them back here.
  20. Why spend $300-$400 on a new MAF if cleaning will work? Your readings are pretty close so it might just be dirty. Usually a bad MAF will not even change readings when the RPM changes. Really nothing to lose by trying cleaning - except a few minutes of your time.
  21. :welcome: P0301 Misfire, cylinder 1 I would erase the code and see if it comes back. If it does - Check your spark plug coil, electrical connection, and if needed spark plug.
  22. :welcome: Have a look at this topic first - might be worth a try. How to add fluid to your top is it stops operating
  23. The Tip shifter is different to remove (covered many times here - search tip shift knob). The rest of the console is pretty much the same.
  24. Try 0626 or 0624 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST Did you read the FAQ for other suggestions?
