  1. http://www.imakenews.com/sunsetimports/e_a...le001513481.cfm The Panameras are Coming! First 31 being flown to California for Preview ATLANTA-The first 31 Porsche Panamera models are in the air and on their way to the car's North American debut where the public will see the all-new four-passenger Gran Turismo for the first time at a series of major events during the Monterey Peninsula Automotive Week (the week of August 9-16). Activities include automotive celebrations at the Quail Lodge, the Monterey Historics and the famed Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. The Panamera Gran Turismo will go on sale at Porsche's 202 U.S. dealers on October 17, 2009.
  2. Probably not street legal.
  3. Hmm.... might be time to find a new dealer - US MSRP is $71.28 (and I think that is high).
  4. 1. Find the middle of the lid. 2. Position the GT3 logo with the dimensions A and B = 78.2 mm- and -C = 28 ± 1 mm on the rear lid and affix.
  5. I think you have a brake booster problem. Have you checked it?
  6. Try 4646 or 4644 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  7. It won't do much in city driving as the added capacity is only a few liters. But once you are moving I think it helps quite a bit. Of course, be sure to check the radiators on your car now (and AC condensers) for debris that rob the cooling efficiency.
  8. Sorry, my point was perhaps the engine was changed (sometime in the last 11 years) to a 3.6 liter - and whether the records show that change. The 3.6 liter engine did not come out until MY2002 and would require some other changes (like DME, and fuel lines). As I said, I would do a lot more research on this car - have it inspected by well known Porsche shop. Some things do not sound right...
  9. Yes, but 997.571.219.01 is the newest part number.
  10. :welcome: C26 = South Africa A MY98 Carrera would have a 3.4 liter engine from the factory. If I were buying I would find out more about he car's history and any repairs.

    Radio Code

You will need to contact a dealer or radio manufacturer.
  12. I saw that Durametric's version 6 (now in beta, see www.durametric.com) supports brake bleeding. This would allow you to get any air out of the ABS pump. JP Yes, I have not tried it yet on a car - but it should work fine.
  13. :welcome: Yes, they are pretty much the same except for overall size of the optional rotors.
  14. I moved the thread. Just go to the 996 main forum and search for "logo" and author "Loren" - that should give you links to all of them.
  15. Which do you want Carrera or GT3? Carrera is here
  16. :welcome: Pretty much the same as the 996 Turbo. Oil Change Instructions
  17. Try 7164 or 7162 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  18. I doubt it is the key - did you try your spare or valet key? Yes, the seat would need to come out and then the control box. Disconnect the battery first or you will get an airbag light. If you don't feel comfortable working on it find a good Porsche shop.
  19. It does not matter if you ever used the alarm - that box also has the central locking circuitry and the immobilizer. It would be best to find someone with a a PST2 or PIWIS that can confirm the problem. In a few rare occurrences the problem was corroded connections that could be cleaned - but that still not be the best solution. In the long run it is best to get the new immobilizer and make you keep the top drains clear so it odes not happen again. Are you in the US? A new immobilizer control box is about $350 US MSRP. It will also require about 1 hour of programming for your car and to match your keys to the new immobilizer.
  20. P1602 Voltage Supply - Open Circuit Probably an old fault from a battery change. I would erase this one and see if it comes back. P1571 Immobilizer - Open Circuit / No Sign Possible causes: - Open circuit in wiring between DME / no signal. control module and alarm system. - Short circuit to ground or short circuit to B+. - Alarm system control module faulty. Chances are this is your problem. Did your alarm control box under the drivers seat (LHD) get wet? or is the carpet wet? If so, it is likely ruined.

  22. You do not need to start the car to check the fault codes.
  23. Try 7363 or 7361 tried 7361, 7363 and 7365, a no go.... have reset and will attempt 7359 and 7377 using the 2 digit recommendation - any other suggestions? Did you read the FAQ?
