  1. I'm interested in doing this too. I see this: http://www.ppbb.com/boards/ppbbphp/showfla...;Number=1509504 But it's for a boxster (will it work with a 996) and I don't fully understand it. you run a shunt wire in the relay panel then reinstall the same relays? If your car is overheating it is not because the fans are running too slow.
  2. Top right corner of the site - click on "Porsche Parts at Dealer Cost".
  3. :welcome: 996.559.237.11 40th anniversary logo -- US MSRP $328.63
  4. Please do a search as this has been covered before. Either the headlight is not locked in place, one of the connector pins is bent or pushed out of the socket, or you have bad bulb/socket.
  5. :welcome: It would be very helpful if you told us: model year, coupe, cabriolet, or Targa. They are each different.
  6. 1. Try this number - 191.853.615.A Grommet -- US MSRP $0.58 each 2. 999.920.015.40 Plugin Nut -- US MSRP $0.38 each
  7. Try 2540 or 2538 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  8. Every Porsche has a custom wiring harness for the option the car had at delivery. If you change the type of seats you will need to make modification to add the wiring. It an be done but it is a pain to run the new wiring.
  9. For MY2000 C4 Coupe 996.542.511.02 Door window glass -- US MSRP $149.24
  10. The switch in my fan mod is not to correct a non functioning fan system or relay. Fixing the relay fault is quite simple and should be done with new relays when necessary. The fan mod is to turn on the HIGH speed fans at will and at any temperature. Or you can eliminate the switch altogether and have the high speed fans come on below a certain engine speed, vehicle speed, etc. As long as your car is NOT a C4S (C4S uses a different resistor) the part number is: 996.616.101.00 Series Resistor -- US MSRP $90.42
  11. You need to have the fault codes read and report them back here. If there are no fault codes then you will need a PST2 or PIWIS tester to do further diagnosis. If your mechanic does not have one of the these tools you need to find one that does.
  12. Brake Pad Change Instructions
  13. :welcome: Changing PCCB pads is no different than standard pads (for Carrera, Boxster, TT, or GT3). See the DIY here.
  14. Try 4600 or 4598 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST Hi Loren, Tried 4600 and 4598, but no luck. Any others I can try? Really appreciate the help. Geoff Please read the FAQ.
  15. That is NOT a PST2 cable - not even close.
  16. :welcome: We will need the exact fault codes that are registered to help - otherwise everything is just a guess.
  17. Once again we have been graciously invited to use the lift and garage facilities of the Bordens....a RennTech couple who live about 45 minutes up off of Highway 50 east of Sacramento. David and Mary have a formal detached garage with a lift for those projects that might require some work underneath. There are also floor jacks, jack stands etc for those project that don't need a lift. Date/Time: Saturday, September 26, 2009 from 10 AM to 5 PM. (All projects need to be completed by 5 PM at the latest.) I will provide directions to those that do not already have them closer to the date. If you have a project you would like to do please post (as a reply) it here.
  18. P0130 Oxygen Sensor Ahead of Catalytic Converter (Cylinders 1 - 3) - Intercore Short Circuit or Limited Voltage Increase Possible causes - Oxygen sensor - Wiring harness - DME control module P0150 Oxygen Sensor Ahead of Catalytic Converter (Cylinders 4 - 6) - Intercore Short Circuit or Limited Voltage Increase Possible causes - Oxygen sensor - Wiring harness - DME control module Fault codes are stored so whether the engine is running or not does not matter. I would erase these codes and see if they come back. Highly unusual to have a bad O2 sensor on both sides of the engine at the same time.
  19. Model and year of your car please?
  20. Try 3184 or 3182 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  21. Try 2939 or 2927 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  22. If they are cracked or split - I would say yes. Otherwise I would just check them next time.
  23. Those are the retaining springs that help holds the anti-vibration dampers in place. Have a look at the brake DIY here for more pics.
  24. Try 0996 or 0994 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
