  3. I was suggesting that you should measure the fuel pressure and output first - otherwise you are just guessing (IMHO).
  4. Those are the factory spec sizes - but you could easily go 235/40/18 and 295/30/18. Or, use the wider Mk2 wheels (8.5" front and 11" rear). didn't know i could get 235's on there without rubbing. will have to do that next time. i'm sure it would help neutralize the steering. 245's will rub on lock to lock with most tires but some track only folks run them - your call.
  5. That is a lot of work. Perhaps you should measure the fuel pressure and output first. I doubt both fuel pumps could be bad unless their is some fuel contamination.
  6. Please do a search for getting to the DME - it is on the same panel and has been covered here many times.

  8. Check the fuse first - if the motor on the secondary air pump goes bad it would likely take out the fuse. If you do not have a tool a PST2 or PIWIS to turn the secondary air on manually then you will likely need to try a new relay. 993.615.115.01 Secondary air pump relay -- US MSRP $23.50
  9. Look at the diagram above the raised center hub portion faces the pressure plate as shown.
  10. I think you mean P0410 and P1411? Did you check the fuse? 40A fuse on the secondary relay panel (behind the rear seats) The relay is there too - position 10

  12. 997-1 seats and airbags are newer/better/different than the older cars. When you took out the factory seats you also took out the weight recognition sensors and the thorax airbag - so I see how that would cause a fault that can't be cleared.
  13. I experience has been the older the car the less there is to program. So, even an early 996 (like my MY99) has less to program than a MY04 996. Fewer control units. So, I think there is even less to program in a 993 and maybe just read a few outputs in a 964. If your 993 has the later style OBD2 "D" connector rather than the round connector you will likely have a few more programming options.

  16. That post was from February 2007 - most companies have raised prices in the last two plus years. It is now $287. This tool will save you hundreds in the long run.
  17. In this diagram the transmission is on the left. The flat portion of the clutch driven disc faces the flywheel.
  18. I don't see wheel parts on the Porsche parts list. You may need to find a wrecked car wheel or a good wheel shop that keeps them on hand.
  19. Good point! I don’t have the Sport exhaust. that might be the next project or maybe something else to increase performance.... hmmmm Sport exhaust will not increase performance or horsepower - just sound.
  20. The problem with intermittent problems is catching them in the act. If it left no pending codes that is unusually. They likely need to connect the PIWIS tester and then "rain" water on the car with a hose.
  21. Porsche does not print manuals anymore - everything is in PIWIS. Any audio work done on the car lately?

  23. Only the latest version 6 software and cable will work on a 997-2.
