  9. 996.612.070.10 is for the Cab spoilers. Loren, Its an 02 996 cab and I got the 996.612.070.10 part as mentioned above Edwin That is correct harness for a MY02 ("Carrera" wing) on a Cab. That's odd then. I'm have no idea where to plug it into. Can anyone help? Thanks Edwin
  10. You are likely looking at assembly numbers not finished part numbers. Do they look alike? If so, just use them - there were minor changes during MY03-05 GT3.

  12. Try Porsche Cars North America, Inc. 980 Hammond Drive, Suite 1000 Atlanta, GA 30328 1-800-PORSCHE (option 5)
  13. Not that I am aware of - Porsche says do not put anti-seize on the spark plugs. So, if folks are putting anti-seize on I would try to clean it off. I have never had a spark plug come loose from a Porsche in the 33 years I have been working on them - and I have never used anti-seize. You just plain don't need it on Porsche alloy heads.

  16. I'm a first time poster...02 Boxster has the same issue, CEL light came on but my wife still drove the car for another day. Not at start-up I get lots of white smoke that smells like burning rubber. I'm thinking it's the AOS, how did you fix your issue? Thanks, John :welcome: If your CEL is on you need to have the fault code(s) read and report them back here. There are several hundred faults that can turn the CEL on so without the actual fault codes everything is just a wild guess.
  17. What part number did you get and what year and model is your car?
  18. No, your car's IPAS codes must be obtained from a dealer. They should not charge you for this information - but as I said protect them with your life.
  19. Just an FYI... Porsche says do not put anti-seize on the spark plugs. We suspect that is because of the alloy heads.
  20. Perhaps the rear engine cover has been replaced with the one from a newer car?
  21. :welcome: Not unless you a PIWIS tester - each key is program to the alarm system and immobilizers. Sorry, must be done with a PIWIS.
  22. Yes, you will get a CEL for misfire but it might take a while. If you are getting a chirp at startup you like forgot to tighten one of the spark plugs. Best check both the plug tightness and coil pack connectors.
  23. 996.612.070.10 is for the Cab spoilers. Loren, I got the plug in and I checked the part number and it is correct. The harness looks like this... not really sure where to plug it in. Any help? Thanks Edwin See the picture in the very first post of this thread. One end goes into the connector on the right side of the engine compartment (near the tail light). Pass the cable though harness guide and plug it into the socket on the spoiler/fan area.
