  1. :welcome: Sounds like you have a fuel system venting leak - which won't pass EPA standards or a smog test. It would be best to get the fault code(s) read with the Durametric software, a PST2 or PIWIS tester. All of these tools connect to the OBD 2 connector under the dash. Any of these tools will tell you where the leak is. Where do you live? Perhaps someone near you can read the faults for you.
  2. CDR-23 is on a fiber optic bus cable (MOST) if you disconnected the cables it won't work. If you want/need to discuss this problem further please start a new thread - this thread is for Lost Radio Codes Only.
  3. It should be standard available hose - check any auto parts store and ask them to match it.

P1516 Intake Manifold Switchover 1 (Output Stage) - Open Circuit "Function An intake air system divided by a tuning flap permits the oscillations of the intake air column to be exploited over a large engine speed range (resonance supercharging). During this process, the different power strokes mean that air is sucked up between the cylinders from both reservoirs of the intake air system in alternation. This alternating suction excites the air mass in the intake air system. During resonance, the intake frequency of a cylinder bank corresponds with the natural frequency of compressive oscillations in the associated reservoir. The natural frequency is determined by the geometry of the intake manifolds, resonance pipes and reservoirs. A decisive factor, however, is the overall length of the pipes from one intake cylinder to the next, the different lengths of intake and resonance pipe sections and the depth of the reservoir in the direction of flow. The DME control module activates a change-over valve which opens and shuts the tuning flap through vacuum. The tuning flap is open without flow, but is actuated and closed each time the ignition is switched on. Once the engine reaches the programmed idle speed after start-up, the tuning flap is opened once more. Switching points of the tuning flap: Tuning flap not actuated from 700 to 3120 rpm and from 5120 rpm. Tuning flap actuated from 3120 to 5120 rpm, if the throttle is also more than 30 % open at the same time." Possible causes: - Change-over valve (coil) open circuit. - Open circuit in wiring. - DME control module Rough idle may be related but is likely related to a dirty/stuck idle control valve (ICV) and/or dirty throttle body. Definitely check that too. Both have been covered here in some detail.
  7. You could remove the belly cover and see what the hoses/lines are are doing in that area. Perhaps a holding bracket broke?
  8. Are you sure it is not the rear strut or swaybar connection on that side?
  9. From that FAQ that I asked you to read... "CDR-23 (or later): These radios do not have a security code - that is, not that the user enters. These radios are security tested on the MOST (fiber optic bus) system to see if they are the "programmed" radio. Only a dealer or shop with a PST2 or PIWIS tester can replace a MOST bus radio (i.e. CDR-23, CDR-24)."
  10. Thanks for the reply . Battery is being checked this week . However I also get the occasional popping noise from the engine . I have had this checked and the read out came with the following codes 16825 P0441 - emmission system incorrect purgeflow and 16405 P0021A - camshaft postion (bank2) timing over advanced or system performance Model year is 2003 and UK market I would greatful for any advise P0441 Fuel tank ventilation system above limit value/below limit value Possible cause of fault - Tank vent faulty (remains stuck in an open or closed position) - Tank vent installed the wrong way round - Leak in scavenging lines between tank vent and positive crankcase ventilation (in the Turbo via a T-piece also on the intake side of the turbocharger) - Scavenging lines between tank vent and positive crankcase ventilation trapped or blocked (in the Turbo via a T-piece also on the intake side of the turbocharger) P0021 Adjustment of Inlet Camshaft in relation to Crankshaft, Bank 2 – Signal Implausible Possible cause of fault - Dirt in oil circuit - Sealing strips on inlet camshaft adjuster faulty - Oil pressure too low - Mechanical fault in inlet camshaft adjuster - Magnetic hydraulic valve faulty

  16. Ah! So it did not come from Porsche, but from Bosch. As many of our clients do not use (or want) Bosch plugs; I still stand by my statement. And, in any case, using anti seize, even on Bosch plugs, does not cause any problems.....................it simply becomes a "belt & suspenders" application. I'll find one from Porsche - have some patience I have other things to do.... and this is not on the top of my list ;)
  17. How about none? As I have said before - Tuners programs add very little real HP (less than 30 HP) to normally aspirated Porsches. Turbos are a different story. My advice - spend your money on learning to drive the car better.
  18. My '00 Box just started doing this (2 beeps then unlocks)... I can't seem to lock the doors using either the remote or with the key in the door. Is there a quick fix? I don't like the idea of my car sitting on the drive with no security whatsoever! There may be a quick fix - but first you need to hook up the Durametric software, a PST2 or PIWIS to find out where the alarm fault is.

  24. Try 2935 or 2933 Sorry to bother, but didn´t work. What should I try now, changing the last two digits? Now the radio tells me to wait...and there are quite many different combinations to try. Yes, just like the FAQ says you can try different combination or you can pay a dealer or Becker.
