  1. I would certainly check Sunset's prices first - they are usually the best you can find.
  2. Any shop with a PIWIS tester can program a key (with 40 digit code) and your IPAS codes. So you could buy the key (with codes) and only pay for the programming.
  3. You will need (all) working keys (with 40 digit ID tags), a working immobilizer, and your car's IPAS security codes. Then any shop with a PST2 or PIWIS tester can program the keys and immobilizer. If the old immobilizer is so damaged that the old codes can not be read from it then any keys must have the 40 digit key code to program them. Keep your IPAS codes secure as they allow this programming.

  10. If you brake light is on then one of your sensor wires is 'open' - not connected. You can jumper them and the light should go out.
  11. Um... he is asking about MY02 and MY03 996 Turbo - both are 420 HP.
  12. None of the spoiler mechanical changed during the 996TT production run. You can check the microswitches with a PST2 or PIWIS tester to see if they are functioning properly. If it works with the switch then it should work automatically. Check the connectors and the wring since there was accident damage. Also, check relay 9 (spoiler retraction) (behind the rear seat panel with the DME).
  13. You should be able to use PIWIS (possibly PST2?) to diagnose poor radio reception...members can read the TSBs. Sorry have not been around here long enough to know what those acronyms stand for- TSB I get- not the rest... In the top right corner of the site is a link that says Glossary. We tried to cover most of them there (and it has a search too). :D
  14. If it is the mount the plug goes in then you either need locking clip or a whole new mounting - which ever is broken or missing (item 9 and/or 12).

  20. MY97 to MY00 are the same. MY01 is slightly different but still the newer style. MY02 to MY05 are the same. The newer style can not be used in place of the older style (and visa versa).
  21. Yes, DME = ECU. There are many ECU's on the newer cars but only one DME (motor control).
  22. It is a very simple circuit. Either a bad connection or a bad airbag controller. If you are not familiar with the dangers of handling airbags then have a professional do the repair.
  23. In the front trunk above and behind the spare tire. Option codes would be M490 or M680.
