  1. :welcome: Please tell us the exact model and model year of your car. Also, if you have a fault code number(s) please tell us those.
  2. Loren, Are you absolutely sure that the old greenish-yellow and the new pink Porsche-sourced coolants can be mixed? I have had two PCNA techs tell me just during the past month that if you mix the new pink with the old greenish-yellow coolant they will gel and cause great harm to your engine. They further told me that the old greenish-yellow coolant can be mixed with the blue BMW coolant without the gelling problem. Are there any factory tech update notices on this? It has been discussed (and done here many times). The PORSCHE coolants are compatible but other brands may not be. (pic courtesy Tool Pants) http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...ost&p=56360
  3. Please re-read the board Guideline/Rules here - Porsche content only. Thank you.
  4. Very little service manual info is available for MY2009 - but it appears the lens/cover snaps off. This should get you to the bulb replacement and the main body of the light. If there are no screws there then it likely also snaps out.
  5. Try 4602 or 4600 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  6. Please read this and follow the instructions... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST I will only answer radio code requests in the one thread linked at the end of the FAQ. This thread is now closed.
  7. Try 0303 or 0301 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  8. Tool Pants does respond to free beer ;)
  9. Currently on offer from UK OPC's at £535 + VAT (about $980) but I understand that each dealer only has 2 kits to sell. Check with carnewal.com in Belgium too - Gert usually has kits and very competitive prices.
  10. For MY2001 996 Coupe, 6 speed -- 000.044.500.07 RoW M030 Suspension Kit -- US MSRP $1315.72
  11. Exact model (include coupe, cab, Targa) and year of your car please.
  12. I would suspect the upper strut mounts and/or bearings. Check to see if they are loose first.
  13. The spoiler switches can easily be tested with a PST2 or PIWIS tester. Where are you located - perhaps another member can help you.
  14. If you guys are doing OBC hacks you really need to convince Tool Pants to join you. :king:
  15. Thanks Bill -- too early - I misread. Detach negative terminal of battery and cover the terminal or battery. Remove right front wheel. Remove right front wheel housing liner. 1. Detach filler neck. Remove cap. Undo hexagon-head bolt. Unclip seal. 2. Detach fuel lines and ground strap. Press release buttons and simultaneously pull the lines apart. Pull off the ground strap. 3. Remove filler neck. urn the filler neck clockwise by approx. 45° and pull out carefully. The open surge flap must not be damaged when pulling out the filler neck. Install 1. Close the surge flap. Close the surge flap before fitting the filler neck. Engage surge flap at the locking lug. 2. To facilitate installation, apply a thin coat of engine oil on the indicated area (arrow). 3. Carefully push the filler neck into take-up flange on the fuel tank. Turn the filler neck anticlockwise by approx. 45°. Fit fuel lines and ground strap Fit seal in correct position. Ensure that the locking tabs are seated correctly. Fasten the hexagon-head bolt. Coat seat of the cap seal with Vaseline.
  16. Not really a problem - but when you change something that changes the air flow dynamics you should "reset" the DME. This causes it to re-learn the new air flow dynamic and adjust accordingly.
  17. Only the buttons (on the controls) will be different. The MY01 and older have a glossy finish and MY02 and newer have a matte finish.
  18. Hi again Loren, I got the canister off thank you but now I cannot remove the fender because the fuel filler assembly seems to be holding it. Can you help with instructions for removing this please. regards Jim Parker I am not sure what you mean the fuel filter is not in the fender well. Picture?
  19. TSBs are available here for Contributing Members to view. TSBs are copyrighted material of Porsche (PCNA) and Porsche AG.
  20. You would see the oil in the tank. As far as coolant n the oil - you might get lucky if you remove the filter and pour the cup or so if oil into a glass container to inspect. If it is okay just pour it back in.
  21. See if you can find someone with the Durametric software, a PST2 or PIWIS tester. Any of those should be able to pinpoint the problem(s) better.
  22. Try 8993 or 8991 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  23. If there is oil in your coolant - or if there is coolant in your oil then you likely have a bad head gasket or a cracked cylinder liner. Which is major - otherwise it could be just a bad AOS. I hope it is just an AOS but you need to look at the coolant and oil to be sure.
  24. For the pre-my2001 they are the same - replace the bulb(s). Did you check the fuses for the convertible top?
