  1. Any non P-codes are Porsche codes. (P-codes are emission related and required to follow OBD 2 and (in the US) EPA regualtions) For example: alarm codes, ABS codes, PSM codes, some Tiptronic codes, cab top codes, Targa codes, airbag codes, rollover protection codes, HVAC codes, seat heating codes, seat memory codes, PCM codes, parkassist codes, headlight beam adjustment codes .... whew... I think that is most of them. There are more on the newer cars that have more lighting and electronics controllers.
  2. Try 0929 or 0927 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  3. :welcome: Try our Search next time (for 'firing order') as this has been asked many times. Hi - Do you have the firing order for 2005 Cayenne Turbo? Please post Cayenne requests in the Cayenne forum - thanks.
  4. Some parts stores will let you borrow a fault code reader. Or you can find a generic code reader for maybe $79. For Porsche specific codes you would need either: Durametric software (and a laptop to run it on) - about $287 A used Porsche PST2 tester - about $2500 - $3500 A leased Porsche PIWIS tester - about $12,000 per year Where are you located? Perhaps a member here can help you out.
  5. On my car, I couldn't find the control units like those pictured. Instead, I have attached a picture of an array of connectors into what seems like a single black plastic ecu unit. Actually, it's so small I don't know if it really is an ecu or just a connector box. I have unplugged my sensors at the bumper-side, and now the speaker emits a constant tone whenever reverse is engaged (which is expected). What I would like to do is to disable the sound and/or ecu (I want to disable the park assist sensors). I looked in the fuse box, but it seems the reverse system shares the same fuse as the mirrors, so I can't just pull the fuse. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks! Can anyone help me disable my park assist? Thanks in advance! I think you can turn it off using a PST2 or PIWIS tester. I have never tried but I know there are settings there.
  6. I always get a response within 24 hours at most. Send a message to BobMcCarthy@sunsetimports.com.
  7. Not to my knowledge. As far as I am aware Porsche produced only one version for all of the US and Canada. Canada got DRL and speedometers/odometers in Km and temperatures in Celsius.
  8. :welcome: You will need to get the fault code(s) read - without them everything is a guess.
  9. Ignition switch replacement (with pics) Replacing the ignition switch (with many replies) All 9x6 series cars use the same switch.
  10. Exact model and year of your car please. 2002 911 Carrera 4 convertible Yes, those numbers above are the same for your model year car.
  11. Just send me a PM with your VIN.
  12. It may or may not have already damaged the flywheel. I would replace it - it can only do more damage.
  13. Do a search here for how to remove/replace the headlight switch. I would remove it and see if something is damaged or broken. Worst case just get a new headlight switch - they do wear out.
  14. Sorry, but I think you may need a PST2 to reset the Targa roof and check for fault codes.
  15. :welcome: You can download the 2010 Cayenne Order Guide here
  16. 996.564.211.01 shows as no longer available - it says to use instead 997.564.211.00 Gasket -- US MSRP $67.55 Sorry, nothing in the service manual. So one might assume that it just prys out - you will need to look and see.
  17. So if it is a MY04 Targa then your battery is 5 years old? If so, I would start with a new battery. A low or weak battery can cause all kinds of strange occurrences.
  18. Yes, pretty much any crack 7 mm or longer is bad.
  19. Yes that is for the Litronics (factory) self leveling feature. It looks like the bottom end support mount has broken.
  20. Exact model and year of your car please.
  21. 996.102.017.95 Pulley -- US MSRP $82.35 (this is a special order item - not stocked) Not sure which is the belt you need. 996.102.151.92 M574 Polyrib belt -- US MSRP $33.76 (special order) 996.102.151.93 M573 Polyrib belt (with AC) -- US MSRP $54.80 (special order)
  22. Yeahbut. . . . That's the LEFT front Loren! ;) Yeah... was thinking of the older cars - my mistake.
  23. Not sure what you mean? Best posts? best DIY Articles? I would think it would depend on your model and interests? BTW... there is a new forum coming when I get some of the mods updated. Things like the Registry, and new DIY section that separates the original DIY Article from the responses - though the responses are linked to the article --kind of "Wiki style". Also PMs will get threading so you can have private "conversations" with other members and it track like a threaded post. Support for OpenID and Facebook Connect as well as a mobile skin to make browsing on your phone or other mobile device much easier. Here is another look at the work in progress...
