  1. Hard to say without the part numbers. Looks like someone replaced both CV joints with axles (the best way to do that if they were leaking for some time).
  2. The problem is that when it is leaking that much it might just let go and dump all of your oil in seconds. If it was 2 or 3 drops per day I wouldn't worry - but one of those seals is almost out.
  3. :welcome: Looks likely to be either RMS or IMS. They might as well check both seals while they are in there.
  4. If you are using Firefox 3.6 and are having trouble with some of the JavaScript not working properly it is likely because of some leftover cookies from the old site. This can be easily fixed by going to Firefox -> Tools ->Options -> Privacy tab. click on Show Cookies then find and delete the cookies for renntech.org. You will have to login again but all JavaScript should then work properly.

  6. Thanks. Fixed - should be working now.
  7. Yes, thanks - that is fixed now.
  8. Thanks Richard - the Location (From) is now showing again (I had forgotten to turn that on again). Status can be anything you want it be. It is used kind of like Twitter to let people know what you are working/doing right now (i.e. Converting my Boxster to a 3.8 liter or Making the time to wash and wax my car). It shows up in your profile and mini popup profile. I could put the latest "Status Updates" on the front page if folks are that interested. Sorry, the last 10 posts subroutine does not exist in the new forum software anymore (not enough interest I guess). A few folks are lobbying them to put it back in - so if they do I can add that back in to.
  9. Those codes are your VIN, model type, engine, and transmission codes followed by your cars option codes. The 40 digit key code is found on a tag that is (or was) attached to the key. Each key has its own unique 60 digit code that is required to program the key to the car.
  10. Ok - Porsche moved the site to a different link - I have corrected the link above.
  11. Thanks for the reply. I went into the setup and AUX was turned on, but doesn't show up in when I rotate thru the S button. I get CD, Magazine (need to get one), and FM1 FM2 AM. I was surprised AUX didn't show. Its very strange. The car does have a CD changer and Bose, but the CD Changer is missing the cassette and have one coming. Not sure if thats what is messing it up. Bummed I have not figured it out since I love the idea of playing the ipod thru the stock head. The CD Changer is already on AUX. Either the previous owner disconnected the CD Changer for the iPod or they mounted a switch to switch between the two (as there is only one AUX input).

  14. Try 9682 or 9680 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST Neither code worked. When my "CODE" shows up on the display I just need to input the #'s correctly then it should start working or do I have to press a button after the 4 digit code to "enter" it?? Did you read the FAQ?
  15. Try 9608 or 9606 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST Thank you for your quick reply, Loren. I tried the first stereo code you gave me: 9608, but I got the word to "WAIT". So then I turned the stereo off and on again, and turned the car ignition off and on multiple times, but I still have the stereo "WAIT" message showing. What do I do now? DO you also need this info: Becker 1 Serial # 250 14597, TYPE: 4462, 24/99 ? Thank you for your time. Cynthia Did you read the FAQ? I think not...
  16. Hmm... I just did that with IE8 and it worked fine for me. Perhaps a leftover JavaScript problem. Try clearing your cookies (for this site only). Also clear your browser cache (close and restart the browser to make sure). You will need to login again but that may cure it.

  18. Sounds like you will need a Porsche PIWIS tester to check the system out and re-program it if needed.

  21. :welcome: Your radio is likely a CDR-220 and has an AUX input that the iPod is using. Just switch from AUX back to radio. Try pressing the "S" button for source. If the car has both CD Changer (in the front trunk) and AUX input then there would be a another switch to switch between the AUX and the CD Changer. In that case, it could be anywhere as it would be an aftermarket switch.
