  1. Have a look at these for your problem: 1/03 6028 Tilting/Sliding Roof Noises -- dated Mar 5, 2003 4/01 6040 Noises in the Sliding Roof -- dated Oct 12, 2001 5/01 6028 Noises from the New Style Sunroof Frame -- dated Oct 5, 2001
  2. Try 2450 or 2448 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST none of these worked :( i also got a code from the local dealer based on the VIN,, didn't work too! Chances are someone changed out the radio and did not update the serial number information. Did you try getting the serial number using the method in the FAQ?
  3. Might be worn gear oil or the wrong gear oil -- or a bad snchro. Changing the oil is inexpensive way to find out without a transmission tear down.
  4. You can try a transmission gear oil change - use only factory gear oil. If that does not cure it then you likely have a bad synchro - which means a rebuild (sorry if that is the case).
  5. That RMS DIY has 99% of what you need - here are a few more tips... Flywheel Initial torque: 19 ftlb. Final torque: 120 degree turn Pressure plate In order to avoid deformation of the thrust plate housing, always loosen pressure plate screws in several stages and in diametrically opposite sequence. Use a disc alignment tool to make sure the new disc is properly centered. When installing the new pressure plate do the same sequence as loosening - alternating sides and in several stages. Initial torque: 19 ftlb. Final torque: 90 degree turn

  7. Good point Richard - I also remember more than one case where fuel pump wires were "chewed" by mice.
  8. If you follow the schematic the next probable suspect would be the fuel pump relay.
  9. :welcome: Drivers side high up on the transmission above the axle.
  10. Try 0078 or 0076 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  11. A loose fuel cap would give a different fault code (fault P0455). You have an air leak on the intake side. Possible causes are many. Bad seal on the oil filler cap, cracked oil filler hose, tube from air cleaner not properly seated/sealed, air oil separator bad, AOS bellows cracked, or a bad MAF. If you do not feel comfortable finding the cause then I suggest you take car to a good Porsche shop.
  12. :welcome: I believe your fault code is P1128 (there is no P1198). P1128 Oxygen Sensing Adaptation, Idle Range, Bank 1 – Above Limit Possible causes: – Incorrect signal from MAF sensor – Intake air system leaking – Fuel pressure too low – Volume supply of fuel pump too low – Fuel injectors fouled – Exhaust system leaking
  13. Try 8950 or 8948 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  14. Porsche part number 986.504.986.00 Alarm Clip - US MSRP $2.54 <--- that is list price at your dealer. Most folks use them to alarm the car with the top down.
  15. If you are talking about bleeding the ABS system (which I think you are) then you always open the bleed valve that is greatest distance away from the brake cylinder. That would be right rear.
  16. Please the read the FAQ (for models we can help with) - sorry we can not help you with this model. Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  17. Should be pretty much in the center. If not then either it was left off at teh factory or the hood has been replaced. There should also be a copy in your Owner's Maintenance Manual (usually stapled to the last page).
  18. Try 8318 or 8316 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  19. Try 0332 or 0330 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  20. There are only 4 transmitters in the car according to PET. So I don't think a 5th sensor will be seen.
  21. MotorSport part numbers end in 91
  22. Weird... Loren, did you put this up? I didn't create this post. At leas I don't think I was awake this early! HA! Yes, the new tutorial software allows me to 'Make a Tutorial" from a post. This seemed like a good candidate. Thanks for posting it.
  23. Please specify the model year and sound options - so folks can give appropriate suggestions.
