  1. I am not sure if this will help a lot but this is all I could find on removing Door panels: http://www.fvd.de/de...rDoorPanel.html  You can buy those same trim tools at Harbor Freight for under $8.00 I bought mine on sale for $4.99
  2. MAF has nothing to do with starting and very little to do with idle. You can unplug the MAF and the car will run fine until about 4000 RPM. Can you tell us ALL the fault codes you are getting?
  3. Try 2539 or 2537 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST Just the 4 digits - if it works then the radio comes on.
  4. Sounds unusual to me... Most coolant leaks are: tanks, tank cap, rubber hoses, and water pump - in that order. I would get a second opinion at another OPC or well know Porsche shop.
  5. The DSP is a separate box and connects to the amp (and radio as I recall) - so the amp diagram does not change. Do you need the DSP too?
  6. Try 2539 or 2537 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  7. I1Y1 is the option code (Differential Lock, rear, center differential lock). Send me your VIN in a PM and I'll double check it for you.
  8. Recently, my light switch jammed up and could not turn off. I had to force it off by using force, and in the end I lost the "indexing" of my light switch. I think the "indexing" parts internally broke apart. Is the part the same for all 996 model years? Is it expensive? Same headlight switch for all model years. 996.613.535.00 Headlight switch -- US MSRP $124.47
  9. I spoke with the Chief Software Architect at the forum software company and they will be adding the old style archive feature back in. It won't be in the next release (which is do very soon) but likely in the following release (maybe early summer). So, hopefully the increased message storage will hold us until then.
  10. The headlight switch has been a problem for others here too. I would replace the switch.
  11. I have increased the number of stored messages for Contributing Members to 500 also.
  12. Try 1208 or 1206 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  13. For now you can only do it by Conversation. Just choose the conversation and then click on the Print/Download button. Your choices will be Print, Download (HTML), or Download (Word). (Yes, I just added this...) Personally I liked the old method where I could "archive" them by mailing them to myself. Perhaps they will add that back in?
  14. Please post this in the proper thread. Please read this and follow the instructions... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST I will only answer radio code requests in the one thread linked at the end of the FAQ. This thread is now closed.
  15. Um... the same 3.4 liter engine is used in the Cayman.
  16. I am going to close this post as you already have a post covering the same subject.
  17. Sorry - we can not help you. Please read the Lost Radio FAQ... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  18. For racing? You must mean drag racing? Why not use the 996TT engine - much stronger and more "modable" for extreme HP.
  19. Porsche has an exchange compressor part also (I believe a two year warranty). 996.126.011.BX Compressor (Denso 7S BU 16) -- US MSRP $670.17 I would check with the folks at Sunset Imports (Porsche Parts at Dealer Cost) for better pricing.
  20. 996.126.011.52 magnetic clutch -- US MSRP $806.98 Removal 1. Use a standard strap wrench to securely hold the pressure plate, and undo the fasteningscrew. 2. Screw a screw M8 into the thread of the pressure plate until the pressure plate can be removed manually. Remove the spacer washers. 3. Use standard Seeger circlip ring pliers to remove the Seeger circlip ring. Manually remove the belt pulley. 4. Unscrew the cable of the magnetic coil from the compressor housing. Remove the Seeger circlip ring. Remove the magnetic coil from the compressor housing. Installation 1. Place the magnetic coil on the compressor housing. The locking pin must engage in the locking hole. 2. Install the Seeger circlip ring. The slanted surface (arrow) of the Seeger circlip ring faces upwards (to the fastening screw). 3. Tighten the pressure plate fastening screw. Tightening torque: 14 Nm (10 ftlb) Check the air gap of the magnet coupling 1. Check the air gap between the pressure plate and belt pulley with a depth gauge. 2. Place a rule on the outer edge of the belt pulley.Use a depth gauge to measure up to the pressure plate. Apply battery voltage to the magnetic coupling and measure the distance (air gap) to the attracted pressure plate. Always measure at at least three points on the pressure plate in order to obtain a mean value. Distance: 0.5 mm:t 0.15 mm 3. If the air gap is not in the tolerance range, it must be adjusted with the aid of the spacer washers.
  21. The factory sideskirts fit the best (IMHO).
  22. Try 0593 or 0591 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  23. :welcome: Have a look at the DIY for the whole mechanism upgrade DIY Upgraded Ignition Switch/Lock Installation for 996/Boxster
  24. :welcome: You need to check the option codes on your car. These can be found in your Maintenance Manual that came with the car.
  25. C4S and Turbo share the same wide body. They have their own aerokit. C2 is a narrow body - so C2, C4, or GT3 aerokits will work on your car.
