  1. Correct. My guess is he still has a dirty throttle - likely behind the butterfly. If not I guess it could be an intermittent throttle positioner - which would mean a new throttle body.
  2. The zinc coated hot galvanized steel parts did not start until mid production year 1976 - unfortunately my car was built before that change and it also had the 1975 5 blade fan. My car was also a California car so it had the then 'California only' emissions. I suspect the original poster does not have a thermal reactor.
  3. Before you go to the trouble of replacing the fuel pump - check the fuel pressure and the delivered volume. Nominal test pressure values: Stationary engine: 3.8 +- 0.2 bar Engine idling: 3.3 +- 0.2 bar fuel delivered volume: Quantity supplied must be at least 850 cm3/30 sec i.e. after 30 seconds at least 850 cm3 fuel must be present in the measuring container.
  4. 955.044.902.30 Cold Bag Electric -- US MSRP $185.66
  5. 997.624.505.00 Rose -- US MSRP $0.79
  6. Sounds like it is not extending far enough. Is the rose (plastic guide on the plunger side) in place to guide it to the door latch? Missing As it should be
  7. :welcome: E6 (Green/Blue wire) is ignition coil cylinder 1 - I don't think that is what you want - but check with the traqmate folks. All of the DME communication to the instrument cluster on the newer cars is via CAN bus - so I would assume the traqmate folks have a solution for that.
  8. Be sure to check the pulleys while you have the belt off. If there is any wobble then replace the pulley.
  9. Scouser has updated his outstanding VIN Decoder. The VIN Decoder is here. Changes: 4.00 21/Apr/2010 Many thanks to Scouser for his continued efforts, work, and updates to this fine tool! :clapping:
  10. Try 7593 or 7591 Hi Loren, only for stats, codes didn't work,10 codes up and 10 down like faq says,I will go to dealer. thanks anyway How did you get the serial number by the method in the FAQ? or from some other document?
  11. :welcome: If the CEL is off that is a good thing. I would just keep an eye one it though. If Becker sent you a new/rebuilt CDR23 (which is likely) it will need to be matched with the DME and alarm system. These need to be synch'ed with a PST2 or PIWIS - I don't think Durametric can do that. Make sure you have the latest Durametric software. Where are you located?
  12. One of the two horns has likely died. There are several threads here on replacing them or using better 3rd party horns.
  13. It is recommended to replace the fuel filter every 60,000 miles (96,000 km) up to and including MY01.
  14. From the Porsche Maintenance Schedule: · On vehicles with annual mileages of less than 9,000 miles (15,000 km), an annual maintenance must be carried out once a year. · Maintenance with oil filter change must be carried out at least every 2 years according to the mileage, if the mileage for a major maintenance has not already been reached. · For an annual mileage of more than 9,000 miles (15,000 km) it is recommended to carry out the next maintenance as soon as possible. Thanks Loren. I will perform an annual maintenance and delay oil change to the next 5000 mile (65K miles). I just checked the oil and it still show full with honey color, not brown or black. By the way, I did not see fuel filter change required in the maintenance schedules. Should I do it at 60K miles? Car is running great...My first Porche and love it so much! Your car is MY02? If so, then you do not need to change the fuel filter (ever).
  15. Is the part on the fuel door missing?
  16. Did you read all the posts in the DIY? You need to remove the motor mount bolt on that side and lower the engine just enough to get the tank out.

  18. If you plan on changing the DME and need to completely copy the program from one to another - you can only do that with a PIWIS tester.
  19. You have no Range 2 over revs - you can not ask for better. Range 1 over revs were caught by the rev limiter and don't mean much since the rev limiter protected the engine. Range 2 are the bad over revs.
  20. Try 0736 or 0734 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  21. PLEASE do a search here this subject has been covered many times.
  22. If that is all of them then I would not worry as that looks normal for a 90,000 mile change.
  23. Yes, those are the correct numbers. Try Sunset Imports (Porsche Parts at Dealer Cost) - link at the top right.
  24. You do not need to remove the bumper cover - removing the mufflers gives you more than enough room. http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?/tutorials/article/67-spark-plug-change-instructions/
