  1. MY1999 - 2000 was the old style LED cluster (DME 5.2.2 for C2 MY1999 only and DME 7.2 for 1999 C4 and all MY2000) MY2001 was kind a bastard year with a mix of old and new. (DME 7.2) MY2002 - on was the intro of the dot matrix display (and DME 7.8) - also VarioCam Plus There are ways you can use DME 7.8 on older cars - see the engine swap threads. What are you after - a newer style cluster or DME 7.8 (or both)?
  2. It will depend on what is wrong with the gas. A common contaminate in gas - is water. If that is the case then you will need a gas line dryer like HEET or a similar product. If the problem is cured then the light will turn off ofter a number of drive cycles (starts and stops) without seeing the fault. Or, it can be reset - but in that case it will turn back on if the fault is still present.
  3. Yes, VarioCan Plus and DME 7.8. You will need more than the wiring diagrams. Check the other posts here for engine swaps. The differences are covered in those posts.
  4. P0430 TWC Conversion, Bank 2 - Above Limit Possible fault cause: - Oxygen sensor ahead of and after TWC exchanged - Valve lift fault - Aged oxygen sensor after TWC - TWC faulty I would reset this and if it comes back check and or replace the O2 sensor (likely if the car has 60k miles or more). HVAC Fault code 31 Voltage too low or Voltage too high Not uncommon if the battery has been changed or disconnected. I would reset this also. Cluster 9121 Oil pressure - Failure of oil pressure indicator Possible cause of fault: - Sensor for oil pressure indicator faulty - Short circuit to voltage/ground or open circuit in the wiring between the sensor for oil pressure indicator and instrument cluster ABS/PSM Fault code 4460 Pressure sensor Possible cause of fault: - Short circuit to ground/B+ or open circuit - Plug connection on stop light switch faulty - Incorrect adjustment of the stop light switch - Wiring/plug connection between pressure sensor and control module faulty - Pressure sensor faulty
  5. Actually that would be M96-24 serial 674 05525 Which would be 2004 Boxster S 3.2 liter engine 260 HP.
  6. CDC-3 is the CD Changer not the radio. See the FAQ for how to read out the radio serial number. Please read this and follow the instructions... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  7. Regarding "N-spec" tires, any idea of the number/make of tires that Porsche tests and rejects? Do only certain brands submit tires to Prosche for testing and what exactly do those tests consist of? I'd really like to understand exactly what goes into getting a tire "N-spec'ed." Jason Tires_Porsche_N_spec.pdf
  8. Yes there are many threads on tires. You potential problem comes in changing the overall diameter of the tire. Porsche recommends staying within 5% of the Porsche spec. Failure to do so will cause problems with PSM and ABS systems - not to mention potential handling issues. Have a look at Porsche's 'Approved' Tires list: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?/files/file/1627-approved-summer-tireswheels-current-cars/
  9. P2197 Lambda correction downstream, bank 1 – rich/lean control limit exceeded Possible fault causes: - Leakage in exhaust system between the two oxygen sensors - Oxygen sensor upstream faulty (contaminated/aged) Have you changed anything on the car recently? Bad gas?
  10. Thanks for the info. How does one get the latch holding the filter in off.
  11. Have a look at this thread... http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?/topic/31056-my10-pcm-21-nav-update-299
  12. I would start by cleaning the throttle body. The egas cars seem more susceptible to carbon and buildup on the throttle body to maintain good idle and running characteristics. This has been covered many times here before - so please do a search.
  13. Try 0241 or 0239 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  14. Please do type in ALL CAPS - that is SHOUTING on the internet and considered rude. Try 0398 or 0396 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  15. Try 2744 or 2742 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  16. Disconnect the battery for 5 minutes and try again. Also, make sure you did not accidentally disconnect one of the fiber optic cables to the CD Changer when the battery was changed. If that does not work you will likely need someone with a PST2 or PIWIS tester to match the MOST components again.
  17. Porsche currently calls this color 'Speed Yellow' paint code 12G or 12H (water based).
  18. The 'non-smoker shelf' (as they called it) only came in black. 996.552.096.01.A03 for MY00 and newer -- US MSRP $53.99 You will also need the rubber insert (pad for the bottom) 996.552.596.00 -- US MSRP $7.92 If you want it in color you might try Eric at http://bumperplugs.com -- they paint just about everything in Porsche interiors.
  19. Your coolant cap should 996.106.447.03 (or newer). For only $21.05 MSRP I would replace it and take it out the possible faults.
  20. Try 8504 or 8502 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  21. 996.552.253.01.01C Shelf -- US MSRP $41.10
  22. Pretty much the same as the 996 except that the 997-1 has a latch on the end of the filter to hold it in place. http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?/tutorials/article/66-pollen-filter-change-instructions/
  23. We usually get them about the same time as the dealers. In that past that has June or early July.
  24. The Porsche recommended plug for your car is FGR 5 KQE 0.
