  1. Unfortunately you need to have the airbag circuit re-programmed to function without the deactivation bar. Any shop with a PST2 or PIWIS tester can do this for you in about 5 minutes.
  2. Yes they can be taken off without removing the bumper. After loosening the clamps you will likely have to pry them off. Be careful not to bend them too much and you reuse them.
  3. Try 9128 or 9126 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  4. Please post this in the proper thread. Please read this and follow the instructions... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST I will only answer radio code requests in the one thread linked at the end of the FAQ. This thread is now closed.
  5. 996110 = Carrera (2) Coupe C4 was not introduced until MY1999. 996410 = Carrera 4 Coupe 996411 = Carrera 4 Coupe RHD then in MY2002 996430 = Carrera 4S Coupe 996431 = Carrera 4 Coupe RHD
  6. PM me the VIN and I will tell you what the factory options for that car were.
  7. To be safe disconnect the battery before installing the new switch. That is when you run the greatest risk of shorting something out.
  8. To be safe - yes. Make sure you have your radio code.

  10. You should have edit permission on the image. Click on the edit button next to the image and upload a new image.
  11. Yes, it only comes on for a few seconds - unless there is a problem in the air bag circuits.
  12. Driving - slippage. Either the pedal gets very hard to press and/or you hear noise from the bell housing.
  13. Since you hit a huge pothole I would make sure they look for damage. Including checking the to make sure the wheels are true. Other than that just follow the specs above.
  14. Try some Rejex on the wheels - then the dust will rinse right off. Problem with 'other' pads is harder pads (more metal content) will wear the rotors faster. Softer pads will reduce stopping distances and wear faster. So unless you track the car I would recommend sticking with the OEM pads. Most folks that track their cars change to track pads for the track and back to street pads afterward. Tracking will also reduce rotor life by about 50%.
  15. Each rear door strut has an MSRP of $64.72 each. Porsche book time (labor) is 1.66 hours. So at 'dealer rates' Steve paid the going rate. This is not a 15 minute job several pieces of trim need to be removed to get access to the rear door hatch struts mounting points. I would say perhaps 1 hour plus for a DIY'er. I covered this in the DIY here. I am sure Sunset Imports can get a much better price than $64 each for the struts - which by the way have been upgraded 3 times according to the parts list. So chances are you are getting a better strut today.
  16. Is the part you need in either illustration below? If so, which one(s).
  17. That makes sense then. haha The seller says it's the wide version... Would all 1999 C4's have the same width rear quaters or are some wider than others? Thanks for the welcome! All 1999 - 2001 C4's have the same width, unless they somehow modified the one you are looking at. The rear is very hard to modify though - you would have to weld on new rear quarter panels. Do you have any pictures and/or PM me the VIN.
  18. :welcome: The C4S was not introduced/produced until model year 2002 - so your car is a C4.
  19. Try 5043 or 5041 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST Hi Loren, Just checked them both but didn't work. Have you got any other option for me? Thank you again, Can Everything is explained in the FAQ - PLEASE read the FAQ.
  20. If you follow the Maintenance Book that came with the car - no one can use 'non-conforming maintenance' to question your warranty status.
  21. :welcome: Please do a search here the LED lights have been covered here before and will require using the newer control boxes. As far the bumper goes - it might be made to work but you are trying to put a wide body car bumper on a narrow body car. So, some work and retrofit will likely be needed.
  22. If there is any wobble in the pulley (belt off) I would replace it (and any others that wobble). It can be ugly and expensive when one of these break.
  23. Try 6534 or 6532 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST Thanks, will give it a try, waiting for the WAIT to clear right now. NOPE, neither worked. Bob PLEASE read the FAQ.
  24. Here is the page from the May 2010 PET part list. If you engine serial number fits in the .01 cataegory you might give it a try or if your engine serial number is in the .03 category - try it. Let us know if what you get fits...
