  1. JFP in PA is correct that there are different fasteners used on different models. As well I have also seen seen different plugs different on Boxsters (as I noted in the Manual Transmission DIY). I do not know why (perhaps Germany vs. Finland builds?) but I have personally seen this. Bottom line is that folks need to examine the type of fastener before attempting to remove it - and perhaps causing a costly/time consuming fix if they wrong.
  2. I think it is likely X1X1 - which is Boxster Red leather interior. Click on the link (My Mods in the Registry) in my signature as my car is the same color codes.
  3. 997 551 033 90 A10 is the RS racing version. 997 551 033 00 A10 is the standard version in black 997 551 033 00 D11 is the standard version in dark grey/natural US MSRP on any of the above is $307.47
  4. Oh - okay just wanted to make sure.
  5. Well, if you can't read the one under the carpet then you will likely have to try and get your OPC to look it up using your VIN.
  6. To my knowledge even if you adjust them as high as they will go you will still be a little lower - perhaps 10-15 mm lower.
  7. I suggest becoming a Contributing Member and downloading the 14 page TSB. All the questions are answered in the TSB.
  8. Try 9646 or 9644 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  9. If you have records of a reoccurring problem - then the dealer or Porsche should fix it. There are lemon laws here - they can't just fix it long enough to get you out of warranty. If it is is the same failure over and over - then the lemon laws go into play.
  10. You did bleed the brakes and ABS module right?
  11. Since you complained about under warranty (more than once) - pull out your records and go back to the dealer and ask them to fix it.
  12. Just got to the TSB section for your car and search for "PCM". You want the TSB that has "Installation" in the title.
  13. I think you need to put a tester on the car (i.e. Durametric, PST2 or PIWIS) and see if there are alarm faults.
  14. I would try a PST2 or PIWIS - even though I have all three I have not tried that on the Durametric.
  15. :welcome: What tester is he using to try and clear the light? PST2 or PIWIS will definitely work.
  16. CEL is on with code P0447 which stands for: P0447 EVAP Canister Shutoff Valve (Output Stage) - Open Circuit I am also getting similar whirling sound that lasts for 1 second and comes in frequency of 5 seconds, seems to be coming from the evap. canister. Related? Shutoff valve malfunctioning? Is there a part-number for shutoff valve or is it with the canister? P0447 EVAP Canister Shutoff Valve (Output Stage) - Open Circuit Possible fault causes: - Wiring harness - Shutoff valve - DME control module Check voltage supply for shutoff valve. 1. Remove front right-hand wheel housing liner. 2. Remove connector of shutoff valve. 3. Connect voltmeter (positive) to shutoff valve connector, pin I, and ground. 4. Switch on the ignition. Display: battery voltage Check shutoff valve. 1. Remove front right-hand wheel housing liner. 2. Remove connector of shutoff valve. 3. Connect ohmmeter to shutoff valve pins 1 and 2. Display: 22 - 26 ohms at 20°C Check triggering wire for shutoff valve for continuity. 1. Remove front right-hand wheel housing liner. 2. Remove connector of shutoff valve. 3. Connect special tool 9616 to wiring harness (DME control module connector). 4. Connect ohmmeter to shutoff valve, pin 2, and special tool 9616, pin 7. Display: 0 - 5 ohms Note: The wire is routed via connector X 2/5, pin 6.
  17. That is the vent line for the battery - it should be connected to the battery vent. Ifg your battery does not have a vent then I highly suggest you get one that does. Acid fumes and vapors will do damage when left unvented inside your front trunk.
  18. Only place I can think that you can get adjustable rear control arms are Porsche MotorSports and perhaps TRG. You can check with other racing suppliers too.
  19. The negative camber is there for a reason - too help you corner flatter and faster. Changing the rear camber outside of factory specs could have dangerous handling results - we urge to to be careful with any changes especially if you go outside the factory specs. It is set the way it is for YOUR safety.
  20. Yes, that sensor measures the water temperature at the block. There is a also an oil temperature sensor.
  21. The 996 door panel removal is here: The 986 door panels are covered to some degree here: http://www.bombaydigital.com/boxster/projects/window/ As I said they may be a close fit but the door handles and pockets would have to come over from your old door panels.
  22. Door handles and door pockets are different between Boxster and Carrera - so not exact fit.
