  1. I want you to get replies - but not something public that thieves could use. That is why I asked folks to respond via PM. Thanks for understanding.
  2. Most data loggers I've seen use the Green/Violet wire.
  3. I ask that any responses to this thread be sent by PM (Private Message) - we really don't need a "How to steal a Boxster" thread. Thanks.
  4. Sounds like another classic case of worn out ignition switch. Do a search here there is a DIY Tutorial and lots of tips.
  5. P0153 Aging of Oxygen Sensor Ahead of Catalytic Converter (Cylinders 4 - 6) - Below Lower Limit P1119 Oxygen Sensor Heating 2 Ahead of Catalytic Converter - Below Lower Limit P1411 Secondary Air Injection Sy.stem - Signal Implausible (Cylinders 4 - 6) Check the usual suspect AOS, AOS baffle, oil filer tube.
  6. Just to close this out -- the problem turned out to be the AC relay.
  7. :welcome: Make sure the clutch is ALL the way in - there is a microswitch on the clutch pedal. It pretty much has to be on the floor to start my car.
  8. If you do a search here you will find that LED stop lights cause problems because there is not enough resistance in the circuit. Most folks have to add in a resister or go back to the bulb type 3rd stop light.
  9. Non replaceable in tank fuel filters are pretty much the standard in all cars today. Unless your fuel tank has been contaminated you normally do not need to change this filter.
  10. These batteries do not drain faster than other batteries. If they do then it is likely because someone has added things to the car that are using power when the car is off (like a radar detector) or there is a problem with some component.
  11. Sorry, this is pretty vague - can you tell more of what you mean? Steering wheel? Steering ratio? ???
  12. This is obvious flame bait - so I am just going to close this. Please keep your questions/posts Porsche technical oriented - thank you.
  13. :welcome: You will find what you are looking for on the DIY menu... http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?app=pcode&do=dme72
  14. Try 4433 or 4431 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
  15. "On-demand resonance reservoir, Carrera S The air filter of the 3.8 litre engine differs from that of the 3.6 litre engine through an active on-demand resonance reservoir integrated in the upper part of the air filter. Undesired noises can be insulated by adjusting the volume of the reservoir according to engine speed, whereby sound in the passenger compartment is optimised. One of the goals in adjusting the passenger compartment sound has been to reduce background noise in the higher frequency range and to greater emphasise the sporty, load-related exhaust and intake noises between 300 and 600 Hz. Opening and closing the resonance reservoir produces an improvement in the intake noise of the 3.8 litre engine, particularly in combination with the specific intake system of the 3.8 litre engine. This reservoir is activated via a vacuum-controlled flap as a function of engine speed and using temperature compensation. The flap opens in the temperature range between 0 and 30 °C at between approx. 4,600 and 4,800 rpm and closes at between approx. 6,000 and 6,250 rpm."
  16. I wouldn't put the newer style belts with pyrotechnic tensioners in an older car - you don't have the electronics to trigger them. Just my 2 cents.
  17. Sorry, but if the code won't clear then you still have a problem and it may be in the wiring. Any sign of rodent damage?
  18. :welcome: The order guide just came out in July - so I would expect the owners manual to be about the time of the first deliveries. So soon.

  20. The tech books are published by Porsche every year to highlight design changes and improvements. Normally only dealers and shops get these. We make these books available to our Contributing Members here - to become a Contributing member her just click on the Donate link at the top right of any page and follow the instructions.
  21. Hi Kostas or Loren, Could you show post of the pictures or instruction of how to change the oil on the V6 2004 Cayenne next time you do the oil change on your truck ? Thanks, trong I would like to bump this question. Have been browsing this forum and cannot find a tutorial on the first gen cayenne v6 oil change. I read that removing the underbody is the hard part. Any tutorial on how to remove that underbody plate? Any help? Thanks in advance. Did you look in the DIY Tutorial section?
  22. 1. The AC compressor is still driven by the engine but it does not have the old compressor clutch (the compressor runs continuously). From the 2009 Tech Book The air-conditioning compressor switches off automatically at outside temperatures of below approx. 35° F. (2° C.) and cannot be switched on again – even manually – by pressing the “Auto” button. The pressure relief valve opens at a critical system pressure of 2030 psi (140 bar) to protect the lines from irreparable damage. The valve closes again when pressure compensation is complete. The valve is located directly on the compressor, on the high-pressure side. At a coolant temperature of T > 244° F. (118° C.), a forced suppression of the air conditioning system is requested of the air conditioning control unit by the DME system via the CAN bus. For this purpose, the electronic control valve sets the compressor to zero delivery mode (both radiator fans running). A timed full-load shutdown (compressor function is disabled) occurs if the throttle position is greater than 92%. Speed is taken into consideration here when setting the driver set point torque 2. See answer 1.
  23. Loren, thanks for your help. Another thing that I have a problem with is the headlight switch has not been working and i saw some post that it is possible to clean with MAF stuff but i cannot find where it is sold, any thoughts ? I am not a proponent of cleaning electrical switches that are likely worn out. You can try but if it fixes it may be just temporary. If you refresh the home page here the cleaner should pop up in the Amazon Store ads on the right.
  24. The hose likely blew because it was old, deteriorated and weak. You really want to go with stainless steel screw type spring clamps.
  25. Oh -- jeez my bad. 996.603.012.02 MY00 and newer 2WD. Porsche also sells rebuilt - exchange alternators (996.603.012.2X) for MSRP $547.38
