  1. Try 6702 Unfortunately, that didn't work. I've tried numbers around that, but no luck. Will try some more numbers later. Thanks for your effort. Did you follow the instructions in the Lost Radio Code FAQ to get your serial number? I am trying figure out what CR-210 owners are doing - because I have gotten many codes correctly and all of sudden they seem to be wrong. Yes, I followed the steps, but I can go through it again to make sure I didn't mistype anything. Just had my car at the dealer and they got the code for me and it was the same one you gave. Do you know if there is a step that you need to do after you enter the code? Perhaps that would help other people having the same issue with the codes not working. Sorry I do not have a CDR-210 to try this on. Perhaps someone else can help.
  2. The build date will tell you what model year Porsche classifies the car as.
  3. What year a vehicle is "titled" in a country is really irrelevant. If you view model year and build date from Porsche's point of view - then parts, repairs, and mods will always be per factory designations.
  4. If the codes have cleared (have not returned and are not pending) then the problem cured itself -- for now. If it were my car I would still do some inspection and checking. I would check for exhaust leaks (broken bolts or damages), I would clean the electrical connections on the throttle valve sensor and if you have not cleaned the throttle body recently I would do that to. Make sure everything is clean and tight and you should be good - barring a rare throttle sensor failure.

  7. :welcome: Most auto manufacturers begin building the next years model in July or August of the previous year. So from a production point of view you can buy a car that is a model year 2007 car that was built in July/August of 2006. That car will be sold as as 2007 model year car as it has all the components and options that will be used for that model year. With that said you need to be careful with smaller part changes as Porsche (like others) can change parts with little or no notice. sometimes this is a vendor issue, sometimes it is a price issue, and sometimes it is a design issue. Unless the replacement part makes a significant difference in installation or performance a part number change may or may not occur. As well, a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) may or may not be released. Unfortunately in this case of the IMS - the latest solution change-over date and production VINs were not well controlled. So the window of "unknown" actual implementation is much wider than most normal circumstances. So for these reasons sometime the engine needs to be inspected to find which IMS version was used. None us likely it to be that way but that is the way it is.
  8. I agree with JFP in PA - the number one reason a water pump fails is the bearing wears out. So what happens then is the shaft starts to wobble - if the pump blades are plastic they will fracture and cause no real harm to the case and surrounding parts. But if the blades are metal they can carve into the case and perhaps do irreparable damage. So even though it is a pain to flush and remove all the broken plastic parts - it is still better than a damaged case.

  12. That is an Alpine radio - sorry but I can not help with Alpine radios as I do not have the codes.
  13. The Mk II 996 series (2002 and later) have more chassis stiffening than the previous cars -- and weigh more. So spring rates need to different - just as they are different between a 6 speed and Tip and different between Cab and Coupe. Weigh/un-spring weight determines the spring rates and then the dampers need to match the weight and overall suspension travel (bump stops). Likewise you will then want the correct diameter swaybars to finish the "tuned" suspension. Porsche's standards are neutral handling - but you can always adjust or swap swaybars to get more or less oversteer and understeer. I would highly recommend starting with the Porsche spec'ed parts and setting and then work from there.
